Oh God, there was this one game...with third person mech action mixed with some first person shooter segments. And I can't remember the name. The name was a word and M.A.D (Mobile Armour Division) if I recall correctly. And there was such an amazing weapon for the first person shooter segments.

It was an angry looking little teddy bear, and whenever you aimed at an enemy and "fired", you would squeeze the bear and it would say something that sounded vaguely like "Commander Claw!". Oh, and the enemy would flinch and scream as if he'd been shot, but after extensive testing with god mode enabled, I eventually came to the conclusion that it did no damage whatsoever. But making someone flinch and scream repeatedly for a few minutes is always good fun!

EDIT - Game was called Shogo - Mobile Armour Division.

Yes, this is also one of the most terrifying out there. This sphere has the ability to somehow change from the size of a marble to a baseball in less than a second. The user can carry up to six with them at a time and they can be easily recharged/stored through some sort of 'Center,' but that's not the worst part. Defying all laws of time and space they have the ability to contain monsters up to 15X times the size of the average human being; all with differentiating powers/abilities/attacks of grass, water, fire, ghost, ice, psychic, dark, electric, rock, flying, steel, normal(wha-?), fossil, and ancient. Plus, you can't kill them, they will just FAINT.

Basically this little sphere of terror allows the holder to carry around a horde of frightfully strong monsters that can conveniently now fit in the user's pocket. Yet the horror not only lies in these 'pocket monsters,' but the users themselves. They are never satisfied. They even make it their life's goal to "catch'em all." God help us all.

The Worms series had some pretty imaginative weapons, although it's been going so long they probably don't sound so original anymore. But the Sheep and Banana Bomb were a stroke of genius when the first game came out, then you had stuff like the Inflatable Scouser, Old Lady and Concrete Donkey in later games.

i think the crowbar from the half life series is the most original. i mean, what other game has a logo that looks like a crude version of an arm holding a crowbar...?
While the crowbar is awesome, the logo is in-fact the symbol for Lambda, ie wavelength, and the first game was set at the Lambda Complex/Black Mesa facility. :p
i know the symbol means represents lambda, and that lambda is used in half life (yes, half life) graphs for radioactive isotopes but it still looks like arm/crowbar :D

There were a couple weapons in Fracture a truly average 360 game that were original like a gun that shot torpedos that traveled underground and exploded under someone. The DC-17 from Republic Commandos, the anal probe from Destroy all Humans, and the Lancer from Gears of War.
