Out of all of the bands you've ever heard, which do you thank is the most over-rated?

My pick would definitly have to be A Day To Remember. It's not that their a bad band its I've never felt like they deserved all the love kids at my school have for them.

Although I don't listen to classic rock, I find myself able to stand and even enjoy to some extent every band, with the exception of AC/DC and Guns and Roses

Something about the vocals just rubs me the wrong way.

Nephew, a Danish band that for some reason was viewed as the greatest thing to happen to Danish music since Carl Nielsen, but all their songs sounded the exact same, it was not a bad song mind you but it was only that one, the front man has apparently left the group now to make a new band, im not sure since its still the same song hes making.

oh and just to bring some nice vibrations with me, the most underrated "band" is John Mogensen, the greatest singer and song writer ever.

Uh...I have to go with this. I've listened to the Beatles and I don't get what's so great about them. Perhaps I'm a generation too late but...yeah they seem overrated. Probably doesn't help my girlfriend's dad is obsessed with them and think they are GOD.

Greenday, Radiohead, Coldplay, any popstar, most rappers, and a lot of the scream and deathcore that my screamo and deathcore friends listen to

I never really cared for Nirvana; and I was in Jr. High at the time when they were big and had to hide it.

I agree with you. I can see that they were influential and they were obviously doing something right to be so successful, but in terms of technical ability they just weren't that great in my eyes.

The Beatles and U2. Sure, each band has some really good songs that deserve their legendary status, but I really can't understand the gathering that they have built around them, especially the former band.

There is a disturbing amount of dislike for the Beatles in this thread.

I think that Metallica, and AC/DC are pretty crappy bands who's music really isn't all that impressive.

Metallica doesn't make bad music, nor are they not talented, but to be honest I don't think their 30 minute songs are enjoyable. I can only listen to songs from a certain genre for so long before I get tired of them and move to another one.

And DragonForce is pretty lame too. They're talented but speed metal was never my kind of music.

I agree. In fact, when they got huge after Kurt Cobain's death, I despised them. I used to like them somewhat until all those newly acquired fans who sprung up due to his suicide, decided to shove all this love for the band down everyones throat and proclaim them to be the best band, the most influential band, blah blah blah. Nope people, you're wrong. They were slightly less then okay and had very limited musical talent. Cobain knew three chords and their drummer had more talent in his big toe than the rest of the band combined which I guess would just be the yet mentioned shitty bassist Chris Novoselic and the super emo lead singer.

I like some of wht's listed here, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

I'm not the first one to say it, and I won't be the last, but Metallica.

As a Nirvana fan, I can say I'm disheartened, but also happy--they never wanted to be big, just able to do what they wanted to do for a living.

Agreed, the Beatles were great, Metallica is alright and AC/DC is not exactly bad, just not that good.

Aside from that Radiohead, so very many times.
Creep and some of their other songs are ok, but put it this way, their greatest hits album is more like a bunch of B-Sides.

They were overrated yeah, but I think your being a little harsh dude.

Although if your one of all two of the people in the world who hasn't heard Unplugged, Youtube it now.

Bullet for my valentine. Not that they're a band, but blights released on the earth from the very deepest crevices of hell should count too.

Fuck you I severely disagree with the aforementioned quote, as I quite enjoy them.
OT: Beatles. Really.
I used to like them in 6th-8th grade but found out that A LOT of their music is unoriginal (lyrics are original as far as I know, but the riffs and such aren't)

EDIT: fixed the parenthesis comment for clarification
