It was my 12th birthday. My parents took me and a couple of my friends to a funfair. There was this ride called the hangover. It consisted of rows of carriages of seats which were suspended in the air, upside down. My seat was loose, and when the seats were suspended in the air, upside down, I could feel myself falling out and had to use my feet and use the carriage underneath to support me and stop from falling out and to my death. That was pretty fucking scary. My mum being as sick as she is took me back a year later, but alas the ride no longer existed as one of the guys working there informed us that somebody had died on it the previous year...
Wow, I'm glad to know you didn't die, and I'm sure it was the people who were supposed to fasten the restraints fault. One time I was at Carowinds and chose to get on the DropZone or whatever its called. For those who don't know it, its one of those rides that slowly take you up like an elevator, then falls straight down at a pretty decent speed. When me and my friends were getting on, the guy failed to properly secure our restraints, when we realized this we screamed and yelled at him... it took him about 30 seconds before he came over there. Wanna know why? 'Cause the damn prick went straight to a group of girls that he knew and happened to be there, and he went to go talk to them, and instead of fixing our restraints, he forgot about us and had almost started the ride. :|
As a health and safety restriction only women should be allowed to work on these rides to stop things like this from happening, and the general perverted looks and behaviors that frequently exist in these places.

That, only I watched it at 2.
I was looking over my shoulder every 10 seconds and didn't sleep for 2 days after that...

Bonus points if you watch all of them.
Saw them all. I should get points for watching those. They were terribly boring.
I know of some truly frightening ones, but I'm not going to post them here for decency's sake.

OT:
Home alone at night, all the neighbors were gone. I kept hearing strange noises. It probably wasn't anything but I was scared.

When I had my heart attack. Faced my own mortality for the first time (and I was only 30!)---now THAT is fucking scary.

I was held up at gunpoint and shot in the kneecap, when I was around 15.
It was the most scary thing I can remember.
And the most painful I imagine! Sheesh that HAD to hurt!

I think the scariest time I can remember without really racking my brain was playing Silent Hill for the first time...and the room was getting darker and I was getting more freaked out.

I had to get up and turn the light on in the end!

Those stupid "Screamer" videos when I was first hit by them. Now whenever I see a video that's suspicious, I read the comments and see how people react to it. If not, then I'll mute the sound and watch the ending to see the pretty flashing lights and the dead body flash on the screen.

EDIT: Oh, and a few nights ago I was pretty tired yet I was still lurking the web. I always heard about the movie Alien, and so I decided to watch the trailer for the original at 1 in the morning. I swear I heard heartbeats throughout the night and laid in my bed freaking out. I still have yet to see the movie, but don't know if I can handle it without running in terror. I don't mind horror games since I get to choose what to do. I do mind horror movies where you don't get a choice and sit there watching someone else do something stupid.

If a door is blocked by blood written "stop" "don't go in" and has scratch marks over it, general rule of thumb is not to go in. Though of course the main actors in movies always want to peak inside...

The time my mother decided to leave me and my sister alone after she had being drinking Smirnoffs all day. I was too sick to stop her, and my sister wasn't aware she had left.

That night was really long.

Driving on the interstate with my parents.
I was in the main car with my Mom, hauling a trailer behind us. My dad was in a big U-haul a few cars ahead.
Was at night, not sure what time, but my mom suddenly started freaking out and snapping at me to wake up.
Once I do, she rambled something about not losing track of my Dad, and makes me sit there watching for the sign that would tell us where to turn off to the next road we needed to be on.

I was half asleep, and could barely see what was going on. My Mom was completely panicked and refusing to make sense, so the best I could figure out was "Find this street or something horrible happens" while she sat next to me and yelled at all the cars around us.

As an eleven year old who had already had a very bad year, it was rather unpleasant.

Is it wrong I watch David Firth's stuff for a laugh/just to pass the time then?

Reminds me of Salad Fingers... ever seen that?

OT: Well, when I was eleven I slipped in my kitchen somehow managed to land on the cup I was holding, which then broke and sort of stabbed me in the stomach. I was rushed to the hospital and recovered fully!
But when you're bleeding to death, it feels like eternity has passed, instead of the 12 minutes it took for the ambulance to get there.

When I was 7 I went to the beach off the eastern coast of Florida. I was a good swimmer and all, but I was tired after a while and then got caught by the undertow. I went out farther and farther desperately trying to go back in as was not use to such strong currents in streams, lakes and pools. I was along beyond the cluster of people who were laughing and unaware of my plight. It was the first time I thought I was going to die and it scared the crap (almost literally) out of me. All alone, just floating along away from the coast. To me, that dread is worse than any shock, you are fully aware that you are screwed barring some deus ex machina.

That deus ex machina luckily happened to be my dad who was a great swimmer (thank you Navy!) and swam out and got me.

When I was in high school I was walking to my bus stop 1/3 mile away from my home, and just as I'm out of my driveway, I hear a rustling sound. I turned around and there was a cougar gleaming at me from the bushes. Its so early in the morning the sun's not even up, and there is little to no light...just this cougar and me, all by myself. Because I'd turned around and was now facing it, I couldn't turn away so I started walking backwards. I couldn't deviate from my path to a neighbors house because it was following too close and I, being in the middle of the road wasn't able to stray to any direction. In my mind I was thinking that if I went off the beaten path it might get the idea to run after me. So in the dark, I walked backwards to my bus stop, all the while the cougar is sneaking along the line of bushes trying to get closer to me, looking very much like a domestic cat does when its hunting. (Only its a 200 lb cat) I wanted to panic but I knew that if I'd panicked I'd essentially kill myself. (Though don't get me wrong, I was scared as hell) So I made it to my bus stop and luckily some people I knew were making enough racket that the cougar sulked into a sitting position and gave up on me while I stayed with the group until the bus came.

Holy fuck, man. You had a heart attack? At 30? Damn.

Most scared I've been was when I was mugged a few months ago. As soon as I saw that knife, I thought I was going to die.
