Hiya escapists.
[sub]Yes, three threads in one day. Sorry 'bout that. I'm compulsively distracting myself from studying. It's a problem I'm trying to adress.[/sub]
Basically: Tell us what has been the most important single thing to happen to you in your life.
[sub]Smartass answers like "my birth" will not be accepted.[/sub]
For me, that would probably have to be discovering the world of intoxication. That is to say, mainly alcohol. I hate nicotine in all its forms.
I am a bit of a shut-in, and I wasn't allowed to drink at parties until I turned 17. Until the age of 16 I hadn't really been invited to any parties, so this wasn't much of a problem, but at 16 I moved on to upper secondary school and started to hang out with more pleasant people.
However, I still couldn't drink, so even at these parties I felt ill at ease and out of place. Not to mention how bored I was.
Then, a year later, I learned that alcohol makes me relatively sociable and, well, capable of hanging out at parties without getting all depressed.
Plus, this event has led me to a good couple of new friends, given me a new appreciation of music, and given me something more social to do on the weekends than hanging out on the internet all day.
