Sorry, video gaming company. But the fact that they've not only survived but thrived for so long is pretty damn impressive.

Valve... not only do they make games that rate on the border of perfection, they have made an online distribution system that pretty much disposes of the need of plastic circles...

I'd say Nintendo. They have a massive catalogue of games and franchises that simply refuse to die.

Honourable mention to Treasure, I can't think of any game they've gone wrong with.

The most successful would have to be Nintendo, after all they've been around for over 100 years (starting off as a trading card company of all things).
As for companies that never let you down in terms of games? Square-Enix, Rare, Valve and Blizzard all come to mind.

Before LucasArts copted out and milked star wars games to death they made some fantastic games. Valve, Relic,Blizzard, Konami, Sqaue Enix, Bioware.
