The year 0 doesn't exist in the Gregorian calendar, therefore the first year of AD was 1AD, so the decade goes, 1st Jan 1AD to the 1st Jan 11AD. So now we have 1st of Jan 2001 to the first of Jan 2011. So technically 2011 is the start of a new decade.

OT: I reckon that Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds was pretty awesome. So was Star Wars Demolition. Those are the only ones I can think of right now

Half life 2! Wait...

Lets see. I'd probably have to go with primal. It was a ps2 adventure game with horror elements. It kicked ass :)

Depends on what you mean as underrated. If you mean something that got amazing reviews but sold really badly, then I'd have to go with...

drum roll please...

OKAMI!

The best Zelda game of the decade wasn't a Zelda game...
Just what I was going to say! I loved every second of that game... except for the fact that it ended.

Tales of Symphonia. An awesome JRPG for the GameCube that holds the place as my favorite game of all time. It's also really unknown, probably because it was on the GameCube which didn't do fantastic but had fantastic games.

Also Golden Sun (the original) but that one is a little more well known since the third one just came out. Still an awesome game though.

Lock's Quest on the DS. It's a great Tower defence game. And it has a story! A good story. Voted best game no one played.

Also - Age of Mythology. I didn't even really like it that much when I played it (you couldn't control the speed of the game). But looking back I really want to play it again. Luckily I kept my copy for just such a day.

For me it's Shadow of Rome.
A Capcom game that was brutal and different. A one off but a game that's stayed with me since the day I discovered it.
I agree! I wish Capcom would give it an update, it was a really kick ass game!

I also thought The Punisher by THQ was a lot of fun, and overlooked.

I'm chiming in with:

-Deadly Premonition. It didn't have the best budget, so the graphics aren't the best and I think that's mostly why it got passed by so much. Happens to be my favorite game, though.
-Okami, of course.
-The Darkness
-Dark Sector

I thought condemned was pretty underrated despite how great the atmosphere was, and Scarface the world is yours was better than just another GTA clone, it was friggin awesome.
Scarface really was excellent, which is why I find it all the more saddening my PS3 slows it down to hell for reasons unknown. I also add Steambot Chronicles and Jurrasic Park: Operation Genesis. Both were absolute gems I never see mentioned enough.

Beyond Good & Evil. Just like Okami and Psychonauts, nobody bought it, despite being a very different, and well-written game. The fact that a sequel is in the works is enough to affirm my faith in humanity, no matter how many Transformers sequels Michael Bay ends up making...

Metro 2033. I mean it got some decent reviews but it seems to me it should have been up there with COD and Halo, my opinion of course.

Timesplitters 2 comes to mind immediately when thinking on this topic. It felt more like Goldeneye than the Wii version of Goldeneye.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. It was one of the best GameCube titles out there, much better than its deformed offspring on the Wii. I've yet to see anyone else acknowledge its existence.

Has anyone else played War of the Monsters?

It was such an epic game and it was fun as hell to boot. It had a great selection of monsters and locations with excellent destruction. It still feels like you're throwing a giant gorilla through a tower when you play it today because the destruction felt right, and that counts for a lot. You could even play two player with a friend and two AI players as well!
If you have a PS2 and like destructive brawler style games, pick it up if you see it.

I'll definitely be the first to say that this deserves a PS3/Xbox360 remake more than most other games. I'd just love to see it in full high def and with more monsters, new levels and a whole new game engine.
