any kind of select/back/anything next to the start button. the only thing it's good for is for maps, and stuff like that.

also the clicking sticks. Cod 4 and WOW had the melee just right for that, but every other use is kind of pointless.

I was going to go with the Z button on the Gamecube before remembering using it in Super Smash Bros Melee. Seems that all the buttons are only useless for specific games, but no button is useless overall.

I can't Molotov you. I just finished it last week. I am WAY behind on my gaming. Enjoy it and I hope you don't use all the guides out there, the game has some great twists and I really loved it.

I had a 6 button pad for the sega.I noticed that no game I ever played needed the mode button to be used,as the system could tell it was a 6 button on it's own.Mig-29 Fulcrum even showed a transparent controller on the screen that would show the 3 or 6 depending on which pad I was using. My pad was made by Sega so maybe it was more compatible than madcatz or some of the others.
---I did notice that some of those "turbo" controllers had to have the Mode button held in order change the "rate of fire/fast forward" effect.Although on some games it just made the game pause and unpause repeatedly.
That was meant as a slowmo function......you know...pausing the game repeatedly to give you some more time XD

The 'ANALOG' button on the DualShock 2 - I think it originally it was used to switch between the analog sticks and d-pad, but then all ps2 games needed the sticks so it couldn't even be used.

My vote has to go out for the entire left handle on the N64 controller. Absolute most useless friggin controller buttons in history. Yes, a select button was only really useful when you needed to use it to toggle between one player and two player options on oldschool NES games... The N64 realized that it was totally superfluous, and decided to move it to the "L" button. because it got just about as much use.

Yeah, there where some games that thought they'd be different by choosing to use the D-Pad and L button, instead of the vastly superior analog stick and Z... But it was an either/or sort of thing, and those games blew chunks anyway. I'll give the L button a pass for being such a good sport as to allow for taunts (and a great deal of hilarious bad sportsmanship) in super smash brothers... where the entire idea of wallowing in your awesome kill was just as infuriating as the fact that you had to take one of your hands off the controller to do it. But the D pad on the other hand, was a purely an aesthetic choice by the designer, and served no functional purpose whatsoever.

Uhm, most useless button, eh?
Other than blinking in Alone in the Dark, I'd say the back button on the 360 controller, no idea what that does.
Oh yeah, he really trolled there.

The Pause/Break key on my keyboard. Never have I pressed it save for once, and it did nothing. I was expecting it to yano, pause the game. It did not. As such, it is the cleanest key on the keyboard: forever may it's uselessness shine.

Select Button on the PS2 and one... I hit it every once in a while to see if it does anything :p I think I've played one game where it used it, Champions of Norath. Also, night vision on CoD4, there's really only one level where you need to use it :(

Turning the headlights on and off in GTA4. Waste of a perfectly good button.
Hell no!. That game was so dark on my screen that I always had to have the lights on.
So they could be on by default...

D-pad in Fallout 3. Still haven't figured out what that does.
It's used to select items assigned to hotkeys.

Did anyone ever have to use any of the directional buttons on the N64 controller in any game besides Turok or South Park?

An internet troll is somebody that deliberately posts to get a negative response from people, for example saying something is bad when it isn't. This fellow was not trolling because his post was humerous and not intended to get a negative response from the forum - thereby not conforming to the rules of a troll.
You Amras on the other hand are trolling because you use sarcasm, capital letters and an attitude to flame the first poster.

The plasmids you need are, Incinerate, telekinesis and the electrisity one, no other plasmid needed.. And fully upgraded Shotgun is without a doubt the best weapon..
