My guess is either Finland or Sweden, and the war would most likely be the Winter War.

The province of Canada where I live would be excellent. We have basically the same principle of winter, plus there's lots and lots of free and open space that would be easy for an able-bodied person to traverse, but a ***** for a stumbling zombie. Also, outside of the city the population is very de-centralised, spread over a large area and there's also a plethora of large bodies of water and rivers spread throughout the land. So in short, low population, extreme ease of transportation regardless of fuel issues and lots of natural barriers to seperate/funnel the hypothetical hordes of undead

Dunno where I'd go, I live in a tiny village but a few miles from some pretty big towns, but plenty of farmland and armed farmers (pretty much most of them in the UK are). I'd say maybe the Big Brother house would be good to hold up in? It's basically designed to keep people out, so..

North Korea, according to max brooks' world war Z, methinks.

This will be alot easier to explain if I write as if the events of WWZ were real, so bear with me;

South Korean patrols have their eyes constantly on the north Korean border. But one day, not long after the first reports of a mysterious outbreak in china, the guards vanished. So did the whole country, according to spy satellites. Theory goes, the population, the Armies, the vehicles, all went underground, into the massive network of bunkers and tunnels thought to be hidden under the entire country. If this is true, it'd mean as long as the supplies had been stocked for a long stay, they could've hidden down there throughout the entire war without ever having to down a single zack.

Only problem is, a fair few years after manhattan was taken back from the hordes, no-one has emerged. No one wants to go in, either. For all we know, a single infectee who hadn't yet appeared symptomatic went underground with the rest of the population, and now if you opened up the doors, a groaning, ravenous country of the dead would shamble out, free to take the world once again...

Siberia. Then again, if you're willing to live there, zombies are the least of your problems.

Lessee... Uninhabited tropical island. Whatever the type of zombie, if you, 8 male friends and your bevy of females (30ish for sufficient genetic variety to repopulate the earth) live on said island for 3 or 4 generations. If it was shambling zombies, well, they've decayed, and if it's the magical ones, just don't leave the island ever (or find the damn necromancer and put a rifle round through his head). There are plenty of otherwise insignificant islands that could sustain a (very willing to farm) medium sized population. Do bring enough weapons to keep other humans from taking over, however. One or two is charity, more than that is a threat, to be responded to by weaponry.

With limited time/warning however, go for a military base. Zombies<anti tank weapons, whether normal or magical.

Well, there's Hawii. Once you kill all the zombies on the island (assuming the infection spreads that far) you're all set. Of course, there is the challenge of keeping the place locked down, but you'll have to deal with that no matter where you are, and it'll be a lot easier on an island.

I swear, if the people of Pittsburgh aren't ready to handle the zombies by now, the rest of the world is screwed. We are the zombie capital, the center of the phenomenon. If every able-bodied person in this area doesn't know EXACTLY what to do in the case of a zombie outbreak by now, the human race is incapable of handling them. So, the answer must be here.

Switzerland. Apparently, most all bridges leading out of the country (through mountain passes) are rigged to blow if necissary; Almost every home has a gun cabinet and/or bomb shelter by law; And if all else fails, they have a sweet air force. Another country on my passport wishlist.

while a good defensive structure it is not impervious.
Unless you have some kind of Wallish contraption to block zombies off.
Or you don't kill the zombies.

Let them roam around, and decompose.

Antarctica seems like a pretty safe place. And I assume you're in Finland?
True enough. How are zombies supposed to move if they're all frozen?!

I think I would go some where like the Island of lundy or maybe the isle of mann, i mean they are surrounded by water but close enough to civilisation to get food etc. i'm pretty sure America has some impressive lakes with little islets that would also do a good job. but i would have to get to america and im not sure that i want to fly with zombieair
