I guess Death Note.

It made me think of how this world is and how someone can be twisted by power like that.

A Scanner Darkly, both the book and Movie do a fine job of making you realize that unlike most other drug movies/books, where unless someone dies doing drugs or go into a rehabiliation area, they aren't really getting helped, and the ending just made me realize how I thought I lived a sad existence, until this future (It's still a future, right?) these people aren't being helped at all.

First off I will take the opportunity to tell everyone to go and read Preacher. It is the greastest series of graphic novels ever written. It's about a preacher called Jessie who gets infested with soul of a demon/angel hybrid. It stars an alcoholic Irish vampire called Cassidy. It has Bill Hicks in a bar. It is heartbreaking and full of sex and violence and blasphemy and tragedy. It's also very fucking funny, mostly at the expense of Herr Starr, a German psychopath the Church hires to find Jessie. Warning: it is adult in every singe sense. I mean it. If you're easily distrubed you really don't need to see children being tortured in coffins or a psychotic old man having sex with a giant lady made of meat or the graphic images of 'Arseface', a teenager who survived shooting himself in the face with a shotgun after Kurt Cobain killed himself.

After you've read it you'll know how it changes your outlook on life, not necessarily for the better.
