Beware children the appocolypse of 2012 draws closer and the only way to save yourself is to give me all your money!
And then sit down and wait by seeing these movies.

MSN 35 Movies of 2010 [http://movies.uk.msn.com/photos/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=151166193&page=1]

Also watch out for pg 9.
Seriously.
Take a deep breath and don't have anything you can stab yourself with nearby just in case.
There is also a mention of a Tron movie which some may find interesting.

So what do we think of the prospective movies for 2010?
Can they possibly be worse than 2009's movies?
Can they surpass the glory of 2008?

Yeah its doubtful because of the lack of origional ideas and I can hear people shouting for the jumper cables as they look over the burnt out wreckages of old franchises but at least theres a new Toy Story!

2008 can't have been much of a year if Slumdog Millionaire can win the Oscar for it...
I agree, that film was horrible!

OP:All I want is an Evil Dead 4 somewhere down the line and I'm happy.
Thats why it won it, the film is god awful. Anything crap is good with things like that. Look at fashion the people look ridiculous but the clothes are worth thousands, hair styles and art are other examples of crap looking things being highly praised.

On topic: Maybe one of those films I would watch, that being prince of Persia, the rest are either dramas (which are boring), yet another harry potter or poor sounding comedies.

And I thought Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was creepy..
Not wrong there. It's like Wonka on acid...

I am looking forward to Avatar: The Last Airbender. It looks pretty good.

So...many...remakes! *staggers under weight of unoriginalness*

I'm thinking 4, tops, worth seeing in theater. 10 more maybe for renties. That Prince of Persia better hold up, is all I have to say.

I don't put much stock into the academy. Frankly, its more of a popularity contest than an actual mark of a film's artistic value. The academy itself is little more than a collection of people who are somehow in the academy, they get little cards with the movie titles and, as human logic dictates, they vote for the movies made by the people they like the most.

So don't fret. The academy just gives trophies to the most popular films and filmmakers, not to the best ones.

Sorry for the double post but...

Prince of Persia: The Movie

Christ... This is just horrifying.
Now hold on, at least wait for the movie to come out before bitching about how bad it is. From looking at how Disney films usually fare, and that Disney is investing a big old chunk of change into it; I'd say it might be watchable.

Eh, movies seem to recycle the same plot over and over again. For example, the world will end because:
(a) nature is pissed off with us
(b) aliens take an instant disliking to us
(c) we make a computer program that gets pissed off with us
(d) the earths core is crapping itself
(e) Tom Cruise does something to piss the entire galaxy off.

Wow, so much hate for Slumdog Millionaire in this forum.... I personally loved that movie, serioiusly, what was wrong with it? And really, don't suggest that movies like Slumdog are following in the same light as the popular and mainstream music and clothing of today, because that's bullshit. That movie was beautifully filmed, had an amazing story, and it had fantastic performances.

For those who thinks Prince of Persia will be good, just remember... ITS DISNEY!!! It doesn't matter how much money you put in it. Painting a turd gold is still a turd, but in this case it's more like taking a good game series and hitting it with the stupid hammer. Over and over again.

It had decent performances, but nothing more than competent. It patently was not beautifully filmed, and the story was ok. The reason it is getting so much hate is because of the frankly ridiculous amount of hype that came before it and the subsequent 'meh' after seeing the film. It was quite good, but film of the year?! Please.
Yeah, well, that's your opinion. When I say "beautifully filmed", I'm mostly referring to the cinematography. The shots of the landscapes in India were breathtaking, and I was just really emotionally moved by the story. Not to mention, it was extremely original. Out of curiosity, what do you think should have won?
