Whoops. I guess research might be beyond those with supreme artistic taste. Additionally, if you really do expect those with "an acute lack of artistic taste" to lack intelligence, or display a lack of intelligence in their communication, you are rather stupid and narrow-minded. I'm done talking to you now, before I attract mod attention.
I never said I had supreme artistic taste, I just said you lacked it, which was largely a cheap blow, but it was also due to my dislike of "Che" because I felt that movie did absoloutely no justice to a truly great and fascinating individual. And yes, I believe that if a person is reasonably intelligent, they will be able to, at the very least, appreciate art when they see it. They don't necessarily have to like it.

So I suppose that you appreciate everything that others have labelled art (assuming that you consider yourself at least "reasonably intelligent")? Including Tracy Emin's bed? Including a shelf with a glass of water on it labelled 'Tree'? Including Damien Hirst's recent paintings? Or would someone of reasonable intelligence have an opinion about some of these things (or the myriad other things) that might include 'this is bullshit, I don't understand why people like it'?
If I notice that something is highly praised (whether it be a story, a movie, or a video game), I usually give it a shot, because I figure that if so many people like something, there's got to be something good about it (although that isn't often the case).

However, I see the point you're trying to make - like I said, the "lack of artistic taste" thing was a cheap shot, partly influenced by your hostile sarcasm, partly influenced by my dislike of Che. I agree that people can have their own opinions about things, but only as long as they're able to produce an intelligent argument to back up their opinion. If you see something like "Slumdog Millionaire" and conclude "that movie is bullshit, I don't like it", and have no other argument as to why the movie was bad other than "I just didn't like it", then I find such people to be rather stupid. They're still entitled to their opinion, but I only consider opinions viable so long as people can defend them.

For those who thinks Prince of Persia will be good, just remember... ITS DISNEY!!! It doesn't matter how much money you put in it. Painting a turd gold is still a turd, but in this case it's more like taking a good game series and hitting it with the stupid hammer. Over and over again.
Disney recent live action action movies: Pirates of the Caribbean. All awesome. If it follows after them it will be great.
I think that you will find most people really didn't enjoy the second or third film in the series. To make that claim is slightly unfounded considering the point that they were just pretty much shit, save the first one.

I mean honestly, who wants to see Keira Knightley pretend to be a guy?! :)

Shutter Island looks very good. Think Cthulu meets Dr Moreau.

Clash of the Titans will have to be stupendously good to even match the original.

Oh, and Sex in the City 2!!!! Finally something to hate more than Twilight.

The A-Team remake....teeters on the side of awesome, but also on the side of embarassing crap.

Inception maybe. Avatar maybe.

Not much else...

Whoa....hold on??? The Green Hornet?????????????????????????? and T.R.O.N. Legacy?????? Wow

Sorry, PotC 1 was awesome. 2 & 3 were embarrassing for all concerned.

Disney might own Pirates of the Carribbean, but the film was 100% Jerry Bruckheimer in every way.

34 movies, and not one of them Invictus! Seriously, Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon and directed by Clint Eastwood! (I don't think it is out this year) I hope they don't murder the Clash of the Titans, that film is a classic.
Its because its coming out this year......

I think.

Edit:IMDB says: 11 December 2009 (USA)

Plenty there I wanna see! The Road, Couple of Dicks, Shutter Island, Wolfman, Cemetry Junction ( I used to live 10 minutes from there and I know it well. Horrible place, though I fucking HATE Ricky Gervais), MAYBE Prince of Persia. I'll wait to see more, Toy Story 3, Harry Potter 7, part 1, Green Hornet, though they didn't include it - Iron Man 2.

Glory of 2008? 2008 was pretty poor, as was/is 2009 right now.

2007 on the other hand was pretty decent in my opinion.

2008 can't have been much of a year if Slumdog Millionaire can win the Oscar for it...
Aren't YOU the guy who asked me to pull my head out of my conceited arse? Danny Boyle kicks ass.

Well I want to see Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland. Prince of Persia maybe and The Road because what's not to like? It is post-apocalyptic and has Aragorn in it.

Lovely Bones, The Wolfman, Shutter Island, Green Zone, A Team, Inception, Dinner for Schmucks (as long as no one responsible for Dan in Real Life goes anywhere near it), Salt, Green Hornet, Daybreakers...

...and Chicks with Dicks #37.

Possible. I remember writing that word on here recently. I think you are confusing the word 'kicks' with the word 'sucks'. Or, in other words, I don't think it's much of film, if you want to discuss it, say something beyond 'I liked it'.
...as opposed to saying something other than 'I didn't like it?' I suppose Trainspotting was shite as well, huh?

well im personally only interested in "legionary" and obviously the new iron man which I appologise for not mentioning from the bottom of my heart
but I have a nagging feeling about that movie, its going to be americans vs russia...

funny in rocky films
it might put a dent in the iron man saga (as movies) and damage the chances of another movie
however robert downie jr has recently said he would be happy to play ironman and sherlock holmes for the rest of his life because he says its a blast
