The new Avatar update for Xbox 360

I think it's useless. It's not like the avs are used in an MMO or something that would make fully-customizing them (a little more) meaningful. It's a picture that you mostly see in someone's gamertag/profile. Why I'd shell out money so my av could have a remote-controlled Warthog is beyond me.

I've wanted unlockable avatar clothing from achievements since the moment avatars came out.
That being said, paying for this stuff reminds me of a lot of kiddie websites that suck your wallet dry.

I was considering to do the same thing, though I don't want to unless they give you a full suit. If they did that, then I would ply that Bomberman Live so I could go around dropping bombs as a big daddy

Did I miss the giant pisstake when Home came out for the PS3? 'cos it's exactly the same thing.

A anthropomorphised Microsoft isn't holding a gun to your head, forcing you to buy this stuff. It's there for if you really, really have to get your dude a set of COG armour or whatever. I'm not going to buy any of it ('cos I managed to find a nice pair of jeans and a hoodie in the free stuff! Go me!), but if people want to, why stand in their way?

I agree i think you should be able to get cool stuff with your gamerscore

I got myself one of those cheep Gears shirts for 80 points I think it was. Dunno why but i had exactly 80 points left after getting something. So I still love you. Whoever you are <3.

I think it's a good idea by Microsoft, by awarding you some things through achievements (eventually) people might want more and be willing to pay. If people don't buy them (considering the amount of people I've seen with the GoW armour on they are), I doubt Microsoft will have run up a huge debt on it anyway.

I always like some random thing to spend my leftover points on anyway =)
