Human Nature and Family of Bood weren't Moffat,
Phil Cornwell I believe, I was just talking about how they were well-made as well (Although he was a little more callous with the Doctor)
After the disaster that was the last series of specials and the generally rubbish writing of the third and fourth series, that last episode was such a breath of fresh air.
The best "special" so far was the Runaway Bride, and that was only ok.

I don't think Matt Smith is half bad and I can't wait to see where it all goes. Roll on next saturday!
I'm just slightly miffed that the earliest I can get home is 18:40; but if it's gonna be that good. I can wait. :)

Hmmm half decent, I think I prefer Tennant but then I preferred Eccleston at the beginning of Tennant's run.

Let's see how it goes....

Doctor with a gun?
William Hartnell had a gun in the Gunfighters, Tom Baker used one to scare a giant rat, Peter Davidson shot a Cyberman in Earthshock (I think), and Ecclestone carried one in The Parting of the Ways. I'm pretty sure Patrick Troughton had one in The War Games and John Pertwee was more a dab hand at Venusian Karate.

Tennant's time got a bit out of hand with RTD genociding races left, right and centre.
Thanks for the info, not old enough to have watched the old ones, need to go rewatch Parting of Ways to see Ecclestone with a gun for myself.
Eccleston also repaired/assembled one from scrap in Dalek and was ready to use it.

Doctor with a gun? Has that ever happened before?
Yes actually, Tom Baker(4th Doctor) used an elephant gun at one point. He killed a giant sewer rat with it. I think there have been other Doctors that have used a gun before as well.

I can't bring myself to watch The End of Time yet, because RTD's episodes always leave me in a screaming rage.
Voyage of the Damned though? Even the gorgeous Kylie couldn't save that monstrousity.

wasnt it a powersource and he overloaded it like you can with effectivly all electrically powered things, (obviously abit more powerful than average)

Effectively, it was a grenade pacemaker. Or as we like to call it a Deus Ex Machinae.

I would recommend watching it but fast-foward anything that doesn't have David Tennent and Bernard Cribbins in the same room.

I didn't like The End of Time myself. As soon as the trailer was displayed for it, even I, as one who is not a scriptwriter, could think up a better way to bring back the master than cooking him up in a bloody pot.

Ok, I think the 2nd episode has got rid of any fears I had with the new series. Both entertaining and slightly creepy.

Very true. I was going to buy the specials on DVD but realised I didn't want to pay £20 for the one good line in it.

Oh, and that last episode? That was awesome. Roll on next week!

Well, I was all geared up to fall out of love with Doctor Who after the Doc regenerated, but I'm so pleased that I've been proved wrong!
I'm really pleased that one of the best Doctor Who writers of the decade is heading up the new series, I like the new theme tune and the new music used in the show. I love some of the brilliant one liners "fish custard", "steering's a bit off" etc etc (I'd carry on but I realise that I'm running the risk of spoilers and I don't know how to do that 'spoiler: click here' thing on posts yet).
I also love that fact that this guy IS The Doctor, no bones about it. For all DoctorTen is my Doctor, this guy embodies humanity's favourite Time Lord to a T. It's quite remarkable.
Anyway, it's now the 10th so we've now got two episodes to re-watch for a week!
(Seriously, I sat down determined to hate the first episode of the new series (as a sort of way of not betraying David Tennant) and in the end I've watched it 5 times! I can practically quote the whole script! Yeah, I'm a hopeless fan girl and have a little too much time on my hand but I don't care).
It's set to be a great series, and the new plot arc, man, it's sending shivers down my spin just thinking about it...
