I really like him. I was getting bored on David anyway. And some of his lines were epic! Great acting all round.

I think he was good, but trying to be a bit too much like David?

When it went from Eccleston to Tennant, it was a fairly big change of personality, but this doesn't seem as huge?

Not that i'm complaining too much, because no matter how much people complain, David Tennant was my favourite, so keeping it close to him isn't a big problem, but I would of prefered a whole new concept.

Otherwise, good episode for me!

I was so confused when anyone continued caring about the show after Christopher Eccleston left.

Current doctor who is nothing but fanwank.
Christopher Eccleston... Oh yes! He's the one who left Doctor Who after 1 season, stating, "I don't want to be type cast", and then was perfectly happy to be type cast in 2 episodes of Heros. He was an ass, and a fairly bland, boring Doctor, if you ask me.

I think Matt Smith is completely amazing. The fact that Russel T. Davis isn't involved with any of these episodes is great. I can't wait for next week!

I get what you're all saying, as an actor, Tennant did well with the material, its just the writing on the show is completely subpar, even for doctor who. Mostly because all the writers are more concerned with shoving doctor/dalek shaped objects up their ass than actually writing half-decent science fiction.

Closest they came was that year one billion episode, but even that quickly degenerated into space opera.
Well yeah lots of people weren't very pleased with Russel T Davis, main writer of the Tennant era. Some of his episodes were downright silly. However, this time around Moffat is calling the shots, and Moffat is awesome.
What he said. Seriously; Human Nature, The Family of Blood and Blink were bloody awesome.

Doctor with a gun?
William Hartnell had a gun in the Gunfighters, Tom Baker used one to scare a giant rat, Peter Davidson shot a Cyberman in Earthshock (I think), and Ecclestone carried one in The Parting of the Ways. I'm pretty sure Patrick Troughton had one in The War Games and John Pertwee was more a dab hand at Venusian Karate.

Tennant's time got a bit out of hand with RTD genociding races left, right and centre.

In some scenes it was obvious he was copying Tennant which rather took away from the whole experience
Hmmmm, playing the same character and does a few things like the previous incarnation especially since he had just regenerated.

Have you seen any of the old Doctor Who? Because it was like that sometimes, he's trying to establish his new identity.

Really, some could say that about the NEW Doctor Who in general (I like both old and new).

It was good, he is like Patrick Troughton. A hobo. A brilliant buffoon.

And yes, the theme tune sucks. Worst in 24 years

I like Matt Davies. He's very refreshing, as all of the Doctors so far have been at least 30 years old.
I also (unlike many) don't hate the new theme. I think it's better than the last one, at least. Especially the logo; this one's a nice throwback to the old series, whereas the last one looked like an amateur art student had stumbled onto Fireworks and just said "this'll do".

That was obviously an excuse. You can't very well say, "I'm leaving because RTD couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag."
I wish he did say that. Might have saved all of us a lot of pain and suffering.

"And then - get this - the Daleks keep the one console that can destroy them all - this is amazing - IN THE SAME ROOM WHERE THEY KEEP THEIR PRISONERS!"

Not to mention that RTD knows nothing about pacing or foreshadowing.

I agree, when a show arguably increases in quality it is confusing as to why people would enjoy it!

I loved him, thought he was really good, and will go on to be a great Doctor.

Didn't think much of the title theme though, it was very different. I hope they go back, and also, that logo is really annoying me.

I pretty much adore Doctor Who from deep within my soul. Therefore I admit a bias, I was never going to hate it. It was pretty awesome though, some quote-worthy lines and I sense a darker feel maybe? Moffat of course gave some of the best episodes last series and I'm looking forward to more from him and Matt Smith.
Yes, a quite Tennant-esque performance, but it might be a transiton thing. I'll wait for further episodes, which have brought back meaning to saturday night T.V
Oh, and I appreciate the following: the TARDIS change, the bow-tie, and the laying down of plot essentials early on.

I'm in a good mood, so I'll forget I heard that.
As will I, turn a blind eye

I was sold on Matt Smith after this line:

"Box falls out of the sky, man falls out of the box, man eats fish custard. You're not scared at all are you?"
