If your cautious optimism leads to you going to see it you are justifying Sony's decision to fix what was never broken.
My thoughts are that this will suck hard but rake in millions and actually turn out more successful than the Raimi Spideys, and set back superhero films in Hollywood for years.

Well he has what looks like the right build. However I am unsure about the picture they used. Why is it so grim?

Andrew Garfield is a good actor, but he's not right for this role. And that costume looks comparatively low budget to Raimi's.
If they're not going to make another good Spidey movie starring Tobey Maguire, then I think we would be better off just letting this franchise go for a while.

I'm not sure about this...doesn't look right somehow. I dunno, maybe I'm just used to manchild McGuire playing Spidey after all this time.

Not a bad suit, the movie itself is still up in the air. I find it extremely unlikely that he will be in the avengers movie though, and if he is, that will be a bad thing. Wait, why is he walking on the ground with his mask off? Probably not a scene from the movie.

Personally I'd love to see a gritty Spidey. It wasn't hard to imagine a gritty Batman, but Spider-man? After the cheerful and under-15-rating trilogy? I'm excited.
I still can't get over the suit... Never felt this way about a piece of clothing before.
It just looks good, I think.
I hope Vulture, Rhino or Lizard will be in it. Or a new, darker Venom.
UGH; of all the superheroes, Spiderman probably deserves grit the least. This is going to be terrible.
Though it is important to point out that this is his WW2 costume, from the leather pouches, soft material and helmet. They may have a more modern looking one when he appears in the Avengers.Geekosaurus said:
