The reason for this design? Quote: The 2010 cent theme is "emblematic of President Lincoln?s preservation of the United States of America as a single and united country,"
And now he's rolling in his grave because as a country in present time, we probably couldn't be more divided. Heck, I think the only thing that's actually keeping us together as a country is the landmass itself and its refusal to split apart. This actually makes me wonder if anyone else thinks that this country is an oxymoron to its name. We claim to be a united country, but everything about us is divided.
-Our states are divided by borders and state boundaries
-Our counties are divided by invisible borders
-Our schools are divided into districts
-Our government is divided into two parties in DC
-We have divisions of three branches of government
-The "Legislative" portion of government is divided into the House of Representatives and the Senate
-Government is divided into 50 portions to make sure the people of each state pay up every fiscal year
-And we the people of this country are divided into the wealthy and the poor (the rich kind of did away with the middle class)
So, which part of the United States was supposed to be united again?
