So apparently Microsoft has updated the 360 controller

I like the new D-pad but changing the color of the buttons is quite stupid and I really don't want to buy a play and charge kit seeing as how the current one is a total piece of shit. So what do you think fellow escapists????

I thought that guy was selling a third party controller, and that it wasn't official?

Regardless, people seem to complain about the D-pad a lot, and he did fix that. So I guess it's good.

Well they fixed the D-Pad which is so much better. One thing I don't like is the price as I use rechrageable batteries and I don't want to bother with getting a play and charge kit that I will never ever use.

Any improvements on a near perfect controller can only be a good thing, but I suppose the price will be higher on these controller2.0's.

Personally I never had any issues with the D-Pad and I've been through a few controllers, simply because the store swaps them too when you haul in you broken Xbox; five of the damn things.

There is nothing wrong with the d-pad actually. It has a little excess that doesn't even get in the way and the colour change is also pointless so unless it has some major change to the analogues or something worth the same price as a game I'm not going to bother.

This isn't replacing the existing controllers. This is a supplementary controller for fighting games.

The one with the Slim is sexy, but the D-Pad is kinda sucky on it.

I keep hitting the wrong hotkeys in Oblivion, it's tricky to hit the diagonal directions.

It seems as though it is just an update and hopefully things like the play and charge kit will still work for it. They're probably going to keep the default power source 2 AA's and the play and charge has the same shape so the old play and charges will probably still work with this new controller.

I certainly like the new D-pad, so I guess I'll look for one of the new controllers if I ever want to get a new one. Changing the colors on the A, B, X, Y buttons does seem completely pointless and in all ways a bad move to me. However since I know which button is which simply by touch at this point it won't really affect me.

You seem to be sort of confused as to who Larry Hyrb (Major Nelson) is. He's a sort of spokesman for Microsoft Games Studios' Xbox division, not an engineer.

That's cool that they fixed something that should of been fixed years ago! I also can't wait to spend $60 a year for Xbox Live!

Sarcasm aside, Micro$oft Microsoft is starting to make me angry having me pay extra for this kind of thing. Besides selling the controller for $55, they are making you pay $65 for the extra stupid "play n' charge kit". I have batteries for a reason. Oh well, I still have my P$3.

Well the colors don't really matter for me, hell make it all green if you want, but I will admit this does seem kind of thing they should have done when the 360 first came out.

I really do like the fact that the d-pad got changed, my friends and I always had problems with it playing fighting games. Though sadly most of use already have third party controllers at this point. But it is kind of neat of how you change it, rotation.

However, I really can't believe that Microsoft will only sell these with the charge kit, maybe at first, but eventually they should sell it on it's own. If they don't then they're bigger idiots then I thought they were.

I don't find a problem in the d pad I just don't use it, I'm more used to games that use analog sticks plus the colour change actually to me makes it worse because I cant see the letters in the keys so I use the colour coding system

If you're talking about the controller released by Micro$oft I have no clue how changing the shape could fix the d-pad problem, but that's probably because it couldn't.
