If you wanna skip the text, go to the bold writing:
So, just now I was having a game of Starcraft, me vs. some other guy over the internet, Terran vs. Zerg. The game was mercilessly lengthened by my conservative tactic and by my opponent's decision to expand on higher ground after realizing I wasn't going to go airbourne. But, in the end, mass marines supported by medics did the trick, and victory ensued.
Satisfied, I sat there looking at my results, and noticed that I'd lost close to 150 marines. That's a lot of good men dead, and so I thought: How would it feel to be part of them? How would it feel to be another one in the army? And the thought struck: If that were a game, it would feel a lot like World of Warcraft!
Now, this is only mere conjecture, but think about it in business terms: Blizzard's MMO has already got a following of over 12 million, and the Starcraft franchise not only has a massive following and acceptance, but has also been around for a long while, making itself a name in the gaming culture. With so many potential customers and so big a market, success for this particular venture is almost guaranteed.
Of course, this would mean that Blizzard would be tasked with crafting an MMO capable of surpassing WoW. In other words, Blizzard would have to beat itself, and that's a daunting task if there ever was one.
So, in summary: Would you like to play an MMO based on the Starcraft universe and designed by Blizzard?
I know I would
Also, just for the laughs, what faction/class would you pick?
I'd go for Protoss Dark Templar.
GL HF!
Edit that was meant to be in the maing thing : I know I like the idea, but if it has to go like Warcraft, ergo, reach the third game before going MMO, we're going to have to wait a while, considering the release schedules of the Starcraft franchise
