Here's hoping they don't kill them off and there's a new series. One new series and I will live out the rest of my life contented.

I though it was much better then the first episode, I don't quite see the point of the hologram women, she appears, then dies. Unless's she's not really dead!

How is it that a sci scanner can have all that information. Ridiculous really.

I think it's a tie in with the squid of dispare, or something. She appeared right after they met the squid so....

The thing is, most game shops are actually like that. Apart from the smell of course.

But how did Lister drive past a Curry house??????

Disappointing day. Bad Doctor Who, and bad Red Dwarf, there was only one bit that really had me laughing and that's the bit Doc Theta Sigma mentioned, the rest was very poor.

Bleh...
I'm laughing at Back To Earth. Not Red Dwarf.
It's got something missing (besides Norman Lovett), and I think it's soul. The audience had soul, because you knew someone had "proofread" it. The cheap, yet effective props had soul, because you knew there was love in it, no matter how low the costs were. The acting had soul... and it just seemed that everyone except DJJ wasn't trying until late today.

Also, I don't believe any show has survived learning its fictitiousness.

Alas. It lives on as a Frankenstien - Red Dwarf ideas, generic plot, "big budget" FX.

What you need to remember is, it'll never be as good as the old series we remember. You just can't recapture that magic and nostalgia, but they're doing a bloody good job. Plus we, the fans, have been hyping it up and saying it will be better than God.

I like it. I enjoy it and they've not ruined the series. But bad rider makes a lot of sense with that Despair Squid thing... I was thinking Despair Squid when they were in the diving bell.

I'll agree it's lost some soul from the shinyness, but I suppose it's a lot funnier if you've seen Bladerunner.
Absolutely. The second episode was much quicker than the first, much funnier, and I thought all the Blade Runner jokes were brilliant, especially the Cat doing his pseudo-origami thing.
Who wants to bet Back To Earth ends with someone saying, in reference to Kochanski: "You know she won't live. But then again, who does?"

Second definitely puts the first into perspective. Had more laughs in this episode, and more instances where the cast generally looked damned near identical to their old (young) selves. Plus I think they are really playing the Blade Runner parody for all its worth, and doing a damn funny job of it too.
"I just do noses..."

Looking forward to the final ep, and if Doug and everyone involved were able to keep such a level of quality up, I most certainly wouldnt be against a new full series.

Its obviously still not a patch on the old eps, but since 7 & 8 Ive stopped expecting Rob & Doug, and now expect only Doug, and Im getting much more enjoyment out of it than I did series 7 & 8. So far its been great, with the second episode only making things better. Hope the third and final only continues that trend.

Edit: Oh and its not every day you get a Warhammer reference from a TV show...

Im always surprised to see people wanting Norman Lovett to return. Do any of you realise how much of a prick that man actually is? I find Hattie Hayridge to be a far superior Holly, and an all round much nicer and more dignified person. Lovett can go soak his head as far as Im concerned.

I've found them disappointing thus far, however it's bloody Red Dwarf so I have to watch it through!

Lovett is angry because Dave wouldn't front the money to bring his character back despite the fact he made time to be involved... not sure what to think on either side to be honest.

The second programme was a lot funnier than the first, the video/DVD joke was the funniest bit for me. I've heard that if these three are successful, they'll carry on making them.

Tonights episode was good. Nice suprise visit of a certain character. Nice plot twist that I actually hoped they'd go with eventually, and I loved the last few minutes. Hope they bring it back for a series 9. I think it would work better watching it all in one, rather than 3 individual episodes.
