Marcus nodded. He walked around the corner, transforming as he did, into a living puddle that moved in the shadows. Marcus figured he could make a sound in an alley or something to distract the police. As he slid along the ground he passed by a couple soldiers patrolling.

"Did you hear that?" one asked. Marcus paused, trying not to make a sound.

"I didn't hear anything," said the second. The first shrugged and they kept walking. Unfortunately, their path brought them right to Marcus was.

SPLAT

"Ah crap, I think I stepped in something..." said the first soldier.

"What?"

"I dunno...some kinda goop. Hang on," the soldier said as he scraped his boot along the ground to wipe off what had gotten stuck. Once it was off, they continued patrolling again.

Marcus was thoroughly annoyed at being partially stepped on, even more so at a bit of his body being unceremoniously scraped off. He decided to stick to the walls of the buildings instead and moved quickly. He was in an alley space between two buildings and spotted a couple trash cans. Moving over to them, a nudge was all it took to knock them over. Several shouts followed and some ofhte police and soldiers broke off to investigate. Marcus continued through the alley, across the street it opened to on the other side and even into another alley, knocking over and clattering objects. He aimed to draw the group at least a block or two away.

Erica waited until the soliders moved away before motioning to Roar to follow her. They crept through the empty streets, hiding behind cars and trees, often glancing around to see if someone had spotted them.

"So far so good," she whispered. "I think the nearest scrapyeard is right up the street. We should be there soon..."

As for how we're gonna get back with all our supplies... well, I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.[/i

Roar saw that Erica is signalling him to follow her which he had followed her closely. He nodded at her that he understood that they will be at the scrap yard soon.

I wonder how much metals we will need? I can guess we need a lot but since we're wanted we can't bring too much stuff that will hinder our speed.

Kiru had stood aside from the pile of rubble to take a quick smoke break, and looked around to see if any scrap lay around, before finding a handful of missed scrap, and he bent over to grab them, only to see a splatter of blood on the sidewalk.

The two of them slipped quietly through the mostly-empty streets, taking shelter wherever they could. As soon as she spotted the chainlink fence surrounding the junk yard, Erica breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay", she told Roar, "It's not far from here. Let's go, and hope Marcus has the guards under control..."

Roar had silently follow Erica as they sneak about getting closer to the junk yard. He saw the chainlink fence which he thinks could pose a problem.

He whisper "So are you going to fly over and cut the fence for me to slip through? I think I can climb over it but I could be making too much noise when it happen."

Seeing the sniper walking away from the orphanage and lighting a cigarette, Alex kept watch at the front door, his body staying inside the building and his hands wrapped around the trigger and grip of the H&K. He only had two rounds, but that was enough in case anything came their way.

Behind him, he could hear some of the kids beginning to move around and ask questions. Lauren did her best to shush some of them, saying they weren't out of the woods yet, but it was late at night and all the shooting had likely kept them awake. Removing his hand from the grip for a second, he pulled back the right sleeve of his jacket, revealing his watch and the morpher from before. A laughing smile spread over his face as the thought of it being real went through his head for a minute.

Looking back up, he then saw the sniper looking at the same spot where he had found the start of the blood trail from before. "Is he going to follow those trails as well?" Seeing him holding what seemed to be bits of metal scrap, Alex brushed the idea aside and kept watch on him from where he was.

-Meanwhile at the Blue Moon Apartments-

Arriving back at his apartments, Phantom did his best to appear where he had departed before, in this case, the kitchen. His misty form appeared in a dark corner of the room, after which he saw Dawn was still listening to the TV, looking very worried to boot. The news station had moved away from parroting the same 'death of Alburn' topic for a minute, but he had a good inkling that she had been caught off guard by the broadcast announcement.

"Is something wrong?" Phantom asked. "You look worried?"

Dawn began massaging her temples as Phantom spoke to her. She decided to lie. "No. I just... have a headache. I think today's catching up with me."

Well, it was a half-lie. She was developing a headache. I'm never gonna catch a decent break again, am I? she thought. Now I'm being accused of arson and murder... Murder of a man I've never met or heard of, to boot...

"I was just... waiting on the weather report."

Marcus led the troops far away, then he slipped into a nearby shadow.

"Do you see anything?" one said.

"Nothing," replied another.

"Let's keep moving. Whatever it was can't have gotten far,"

As they left Marcus snuck away and transformed back into human shape, wearing a smirk on his face. As he turned to walk in the direction of the scrapyard, he suddenly found himself facing the end of several guns. A few soldiers must have broken off from the group.

"Don't move!" one barked. "What's your name?"

Before Marcus could reply one of the soldiers said "I recognize this guy. He's one of those Omega terrorists we're supposed to be looking out for."

One who appeared to be their leader said "Looks like we've bagged ourselves a terrorist. Let's show him what happens when you blow up a building and act like you can get away with it."

The soldiers prepared to fire and Marcus couldn't see a possible exit.

"Aw, shoot," said a voice in his head, then the soldiers commenced firing.

Marcus felt what seemed like hundreds of bullets pierce through him, only to pop out the other side. He stumbled back as the barrage continued. When it was over, the soldiers stared with shock as Marcus recovered his balance and caught his breath. Now was his opportunity. He leapt towards the soldiers similarly to how he did towards Voltage. In mid-air he transformed his body, growing extra arms and bat-like wings. The soldiers ducked or dived to get away. Taking advantage of their fear and distraction, Marcus soared over them and splashed on the ground, switching to puddle form. He was already back in the shadows and gone before the soldiers had realized what happened.

Marcus decided to keep this form until he reached the scrapyard. When he got there, he was relived to see only Erica and Roar there. He switched back to human form in the shadows so he wouldn't startle them before walking over.

"Hey, how are th-" Marcus' sentence was cut off by him suddenly violently coughing. He felt like he'd cough up a lung when a small object popped out of his mouth into his hand. Marcus inspected it, it was one of the soldiers bullets. He gave it a surprised look before shrugging and tossing it aside.

"How are things going here?" he asked.

Erics stared. "Uh... yeah. We're just about go. C'mon." She lead the other two across the street to the tall chain-link fence surrounding the junkyard that had acculumated junk over the past five years. The fence was topped with barbed wire, but that wouldn't stop them.

"Wait here, but let me know if anyone comes." Erica whispered, and activated her wings. She took several steps back before taking a running leap, propelling herself into the air and over the fence.

She hit the ground roughly, but managed to quicky scrambled to her feet. Phew... that was close...

Erica jogged back to where the others were waiting, forming a blade of crystal to slice through the fence, then pulled it back so Marcus and Roar could slip through.

"Okay, everyone split up and look for something we can use." She though for a moment, then added, "And if anyone can figure out a way to get all this stuff back without being caught, then don't hesitate to let the rest of us know."

Roar nodded as he had head off one of the path in the junk yard.
The path had leaded him to where all the electronic junks had gathered.

Since we all going to be carrying theses scrap back at the orphanage I can't take anything too big and heavy.

He saw a pile of discard televisions, dvd players as he took a closer look for any suitable metals.

Now I think about it, should this mask and the spare one get lost or broken I will need to get some scrape metals to make a new one. No it too early to think about that since my main priority is to get gather metals for that sniper to make us a vehicle.

He continue to check through the junks.

Meanwhile, miles away, Phantom returned to the warehouse meeting spot, still smarting from his encounter with Goldman.

He didn't know why Goldman could intimidate him so... he didn't even now if he was an Omega or not, he'd never seen him use any sort of power...

Shaking his head, Phantom slipped through the darkness and emerged in the warehouse, where Carrion was waiting for him.

"Where've you've been?" He asked coldly.

"I've been... looking into some things." Phantom responded, not wanting to get into details at the moment. "How's Voltage holding up?"

Carrion snorted and rolled his eyes. "He's stable now, but those kids certainly did a number on 'im."

Phantom, who had been at the scene, could only nod in response. Who knew a bunch of superpowered youths could get so angry?

"Anyways," Carrion continued, "We're down one man at the moment, which won't help with our plans..."

At this, Phantom smirked. "You don't have to worry about that, I have it all taken care of..."

"Oh? What do you mean?" They turned to see Winterfrost emerging from the back of the warehouse, hands on her hips and eying them skeptically.

"One of the brats seems to not much faith in the others, so I took the time to... persuade her to come with me."

"Which one?" Asked Carrion, having seen the footage of the 'meddling pests'. Most likely, he was talking about one of the two girls that had been seen leaving the area of the riot and fire.

"The one with flame-based abilities," Phantom explained, "Seems she had a fallout with the rest of the group and left them. I took her to the apartment complex to stay for the time being."

Winterfrost bristled. Even before she had her ice powers, she had never been too fond of flames and heat... "And I suppose you expect us to let her join." She said coldly.

"Of course," smirked Phantom, "that is, if you're not against having someone who can give us information on the brats throwing a monkey wrench into our plans...

Marcus sifted through a junk pile looking for something useful and wishing he had paid a little more attention to what they actually needed. He passed several electronics that would have been valuable just a few years ago. He and his old 'friends' probably stole a few of these items back then. It somehow felt like it happened a lifetime ago. Marcus' thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a low growl. It sounded like a dog only...different. Marcus hated dogs even before the event, especially police dogs. Mutated versions probably weren't that much better. Marcus kept an eye open as he looked, hoping he was mistaken.

Erica examined the piles of junk, wary of any movement...

Suddenly, a noise made her jump, and she spun around to see a fairly large (but oherwise normal) rat come running out from one of the junk piles.

She relaxed, laughing nervously and seriously glad no one saw her.

Damn... this whole thing has got me on edge... I'll be glad when it's all over...

Erica went back to work, still vigilant.

This post is a collaboration of efforts from AgentBJ09 and KiruTheMant.
Looking back into the building from outside, Alex noticed Lauren leading the kids back to their rooms. With his finger still on the trigger of the MP5, he had to remind himself not to waste any rounds. Looking out towards the sniper' who was likely examining the blood trail he had found before, he wondered if now would be a good time to speak to him. He hadn't gone very far, and he could still keep watch from several yards out.

Stepping away from the porch, he approached the sniper from the road, constantly watching the orphanage as well. "Hey. Looking for something?"

Kiru turned his head to face the man who had earlier manipulated lesser areas unlike some of the earlier Omegas he had met, and was aware that he wasn't fully practiced with his powers. Kiru grunted and turned back to his examination of the blood splattered ground and asked "Your name?" He scraped up a few bolts and examined them, the blood dried onto the metal surface he was examining.

"Alex. And I don't think we got yours either."

"Kiru is the short version" he said, tossing the bloody bolt to the side as he stood up and headed into the alleyway off the main street.

"OK." Seeing that Kiru was going towards the alleyway he had strayed away from before, he backed off, not willing to see who was there.

Kiru wobbled into the alleyway, still slightly disoriented from the wound from the crystal shards that had been fired at him. He looked at his shoulder and realized a lot of the blood splatter had come from him, but the bulk had come from someone else. He approached the back alleyway, and found a corpse that had recently had rigor mortis set in.

It was propped against the wall and looking at it, he saw two gunshot or piercing wounds that would have killed a normal person. One skimming the jugular and the other piercing the hip, likely clipping the spine if it hadn't passed through the bone entirely. The corpse was either the first Omega to attack him from the group or a hobo in the alleyway. "Alex, are any of your friends missing?" he yelled from the alleyway.

Alex couldn't answer that for a second. "Yeah. Two of them." Even though he knew Dawn was gone because of Voltage and not this guy, he asked another question to clarify things. "Male or female?"

Kiru reached into his pocket and grabbed a small battery and a lighter, and held the two close together as he fused the two of them, and looked around the back alley for something to prop it on when it was done. Kiru found a semiplat garbage can and waited for several seconds. Setting the strange battery shaped lighter down and hitting the spark wheel, a bright flame engulfed the air in front of him, which was kept alive by the battery, which wouldn't let it die out. "From the looks of it, male."

"How old? Do you know?" Alex's pulse dropped some as he waited for answer, but he had a bad feeling that it was Ben.

Kiru nodded, even though he was never very good at gauging age. "Not an idea, but it's bright enough back here for you to see." he said as he searched for a globe of a bottle made of metal so he could increase the size of the fire and the light

Alex shook his head out of sight from Kiru's lights. "I...don't want to. I don't think I can handle it."

Kiru sighed as he picked up a stray glass bottle. "Its either that or I drag the corpse out here for Identification."

"Just give me a guess. I've already had one person die in front of me tonight." Alex snapped. "That all I want to see for a while."

Kiru looked that way as he grabbed the electric lighter and killed the flame, cutting a small hole in the bottle with his knife before fastening it to the top of the bottle. "Voltage?" Kiru asked.

Hearing the name of the man who had killed Enapay earlier that night, a shock ran down Alex's spine. "How did you know that?"

"My Employer dropped his name as someone I was to assist with cleanup" Kiru said. "I was heavily lied to, so feel free to ask,but I only know so much."

"Clean-up?" Alex corrected himself on that sentence quickly. "Nevermind. You mean as in 'kill us'. That explains a lot."

"This bastard needed to lay off the cheeseburgers." Kiru said, as he drug the stiff man from the alleyway, his strength barely enough to support one man over 150 pounds.

Seeing the body being dragged out, Alex stepped back from it, but caught a glimpse of who it was. His hunch and fears were confirmed. It was Ben. His neck was obviously where he had bled out, from what he didn't want to know. "Oh, f***." Alex said, shaking. "That's him. That's two people we've lost tonight."

"Another thing." Kiru mentioned as he propped the body against a nearby wall, not heavily shaken by the corpse. "I had backup just in case I was sabotaged, though they were supposed to be here a while ago." Kiru said, as he rummaged through Ben's pockets for an ID.

"What kind? Ones loaded with steel, or powers?"

"Not a clue." Kiru said, but looked up. "He has a codeword to inform me of who he is, and will shop up unless he's seen me go AWOL."

"Wait a second. I thought you were taking us to a safe haven." Alex said, now looking at Kiru's face. "If you go AWOL taking us there, then we're in even more danger."

"Not if my employer dosen't know about it." Kiru said. "The chances of them being able to find an unmarked building is low."

"I hope so. Hey, about what you said eariler. About us having alibis?"

"What about it?" Kiru asked, grabbing a wallet and opening it up.

"I'm assuming you don't need them from us now, if you're on our side. I can still provide one, but I'd need to return to where I was last night to prove it."

"It's up to you, but not now. These kids can't protect themselves and we need a large vehicle."

"Yeah. I can't do much there, sadly. Aside from patch open holes."

"Why not see if they have any junk inside?" Kiru said as he pulled an ID from Ben's wallet and stuffed it into his jean pocket, and handed the rest to Alex.

Taking the wallet, Alex thanked Kiru for it, but still didn't look down at Ben again. He wanted him to be the last person they lost to anyone else. "I'll take care of the chairs, if they have any. Also, I can't speak for everyone but...no hard feelings about all this. It's looking like everyone is being lied to lately."

"Keep your ears open, Any support thats used to back up and kill what a Sniper can't has to be strong."

"I figure. If Voltage was any indication."

"Voltage was cocky and is likely dead or dying." Kiru said, as he brought the lamp from the alleyway, blinding a lot of the street for a moment from the sudden shift from darkness to light.

Roar had been making some progress. He had found small scrape metals like a broken metal pen, fragments and knifes and forks which he had stuff them into his pocket. His left hand is holding an old metal teapot with a hole in it and a metal touch with a broken lens. While he did stumble upon a torn out car bonnet and a twisted bike but the large size would hinder his movement should he take them.

In hindsight we should have brought some carrying bags. Maybe I can some sort of a portable storage around here somewhere. Ever way I defiantly need to wash myself after this since I'm still sweaty from that fight with Voltage. Well actually I probably smell now from being here.

He continues to search for more metal while he starts looking for a thing to store any more metals.

Erica rummaged through the piles of junk, looking for anything useful. Eventually, she came upon a battered shopping card, that still looked fairly servicable.

Jackpot! Let's see if I can just...

Tugging at the cart, she could tell it was caught on something. "Come on, come on.."

Using all her strength, Erica managed to pull it cart free, sening her crashing to the ground. "Ow..."

Erica moved to push herself up, but before she could, she spotted a movement out of the corner of her eye.

A number of dark shapes emerged from the junk piles, revealing themselves to be mutated rats. About 2-3 times the sze of a regular rat, they had matted gray/black fur and sharp-looking incisions. It was a wonder any regular rats were still around...

Eyes wide, Erica hurriedly got to her feet, looking over her shoulder as she did.

"...Guys?" She called out, hoping Roar and/or Marcus were nearby, "I think we have a problem..."

Sorry for the lack of action, I've been having a bit of writer's block...

Marcus heard Erica call out and put down the pile of junk he had picked up. He ran over to where she was and saw the mutated rats.

"Gross," Marcus said with a disgusted expression. He really hated rats. "Are you okay?" Marcus asked Erica.

Roar had heard a cry which he recognises as Erica as he hurries over to her aid.
He soon arrive seeing her with the alter rats. He isn't gross or suprise upon seeing the mutated rats.

He said "Ah I deal with these types of rats plenty of time. These pose no problem since my roar can scare any mutated animals away but the authorities will be alerted to my voice."
