Dawn looked ready to explode when Alex talked back to her. She did her best to restrain herself (and the smoke escaping her collar) as Enapay spoke to Alex, turning her back and crossing her arms as if pouting, but the way she hunched her shoulders and bowed her head suggested she was doing something else. She hoped the smoke would hide the wisps of steam coming from her eyes.

Enapay put his hands on her shoulders. The skin through her cotton shirt felt like a hotplate under a cheap oven mitt. She only nodded when he finished speaking, but stared resolutely at the ground. She swallowed hard as she thought to herself, The wails are back. I told you to forget this memory. So why is it still here? ... No. I'm not going back there. Think of something else. Anything else.

She walked over to her discarded jacket and tied the sleeves around her waist, then walked back over near Voltage, standing a short distance away, clenching and unclenching her smoldering fists and looking at his face like he was a fresh plate of meat for her to cook.

"Look, bro, I'm not doing anything, and I'm not even mad, or stressed, or anything, right now. Though, I still don't endorse being this gentle on that tool, with him threatening innocent lives and all. All I've done in the last two seconds is ask some questions. How about you chill out. And why don't you stop giving me that look and that tone? Like I annoy you or some....
"Quite frankly, you do annoy me." Alex replied, cutting him off. "You have ever since the fire, and I've spent the last five years with Omegas like you. Just get the car and I'll explain myself."

Taking his eyes away from Enapay and back to Voltage, Alex kept his foot pressed down on his captive's hand and swordguard. He had held a constant pressure on it for the last minute, and Voltage seemed to be getting the message. He could feel his fingers moving under the rubber soles of his shoes, lightly so.

Eventually, he heard a creaking of metal and plastic as the car was set down nearby. Dawn looked ready to jump the gun and go off, even though Marcus, who had just joined them, seemed more calm about this guy. Either way, Alex knew this would work, regardless of which way anyone went.

John Coleman said:
Checking the car from where he was standing, Alex didn't see any leaking fluid coming from anywhere. Still, this wasn't a fully peaceful solution, but it was certainly better than the 'flaming-club-to-head' idea from before. "So long as you two don't threaten to maim this guy again, I'll fill you in on my idea. Deal?" he said, referring to Dawn and Enapay.

Erica listened to Alex's plan, nodding her consent.

"Okay, I hope you know what you're doing..." She said, crystal blade at the ready, just in case.

Dawn frowned, but kept her eyes on the captive Asian youth. She answered with a curt, "Fine. I won't threaten him."

Enapay nodded, but didn't say anything at first. "Yeah, being rude helps so much. Sooo, what are you implying when you say Omegas like me, huh?" he casually asked Alex, arms still crossed. "I'm sure you'll be completely accurate with your expert assumptions, so go ahead and tell me. I sure could use a little insight into my awful, rude, belligerent, machismo-laden, possibly alarmist, idiotic personality, you know? That's always good."

Listening to Enapay's complaining, Alex only smiled. While most of what he said was how he did truly feel about this kid, his reaction was exactly what he wanted. From his experience, telekinetics couldn't use their powers well if they were unfocused or angry. "Gotcha. Just keep up that attitude away from this guy, and we'll be golden." he thought. For a second, he thought of doing the same to Dawn since she also had powers that would make this harder, but she was visibly trembling from all the anger she was holding in. Any reaction from her could ruin what he had planned. "Better not just yet."

"Marcus," Alex said, looking to the now on it's side vehicle. "Dawn, Erica and I can keep this guy busy if you'll cut the gas tank free from that car. Just make sure it doesn't leak; I need as much as you can save."

Marcus shrugged and walked over to the car. He examined it briefly, and then shape shifted his right hand into a sharp blade and began to cut the fuel tank free. Marcus was nearly done when he asked "What are you going to be using this for?"

"What are you going to be using this for?"
"Simple. I'm going to douse this guy with that gas, and then we're going to make him talk." Alex replied, his voice cold and direct. "If he fires any more bolts at us, or even gets one funny idea to zap us when coated with this stuff, the gas will ignite and there will be no way to put it out." He then looked directly into Voltage's eyes, putting on the face and mood he wore and displayed when dealing with people who tried to force their way past him back at NYSU, when he was guarding the main gate inside. "You hear that, Voltage?" Alex asked, gripping the shaft of the warhammer tighter, making his leather gloves squeak.

Marcus made a quick glance back with a raised eyebrow at Alex then returned to his work.

"Yeah, this is way more chill than Enapay's idea," Marcus thought.

"It is. It actually seems more polite even," said one of his voices.

"Well, that's 'cause you are all crazy,"

"Pssh, says the guy who's talking to voice in his head. That's not even the pot calling the kettle black. That's the pot calling the kettle a pot."

"Smartass," Marcus thought as he finished removing the tank, taking care not to spill any gas.

"I'll give it to you," Enapay said to Alex with a little smile that he didn't try to hold back. "That one's clever. Way better than my break-his-leg-and-he-won't-try-anything-else idea." He aimed a sly grin at Voltage. "Not that I'd love to see him go up in flames or anything, cause that'd be kind of evil or sick. But it's really pretty brilliant, I have to say."

He glanced at Dawn, his smile dissappearing, hoping that once the gas was actually on the Asian teen, it wouldn't tempt her too much.

Dawn looked up at Enapay as he looked at her, then instantly broke eye contact to stare at a small oddly-shaped rock on the ground. She was trying (and failing) to hide the fact that she was hugging herself, and disguise it as simply crossing her arms.

"Whoa. She is literally smoldering." Enapay's face turned to worry as he saw Dawn's condition deteriorate. He wasn't sure why she was taking this so badly, but if remedying the situation it was a simple as blasting fire into the sky like she had with the previous fire, he was sure she would have done it by now. With this thought, Enapay took it upon himself to try and help, approaching once more and ignoring the heat, which was currently somewhat manageable.

In a cooing sort of voice, Enapay said, "Nooo, none of that. Look at me." He attempted to renew eye-contact, his entire exppression conveying genuine concern. "Really, It's alright. It is. Do you need a hug? Anything? I'm listening. What can I do?"

Roar is hanging back letting Alex handle the plan. At first he was rather annoy that he had ignore his suggestion but he admit that Alex plan is better.

I hope he knows what he is doing or that Voltage ain't gonna go kamikaze on us once he is drench in oil.

He adjusted the knob ready to open his mask to use his roar at Voltage.

Dawn's eyes refused to focus on anything. Least of all Enapay's eyes. "... Only if you can change the past. Or talk Alex into letting me burn this bastard and all his little friends, wherever they are."

She swallowed hard. "I... I appreciate your concern. Really, I do. But... I-I just don't want the same thing to happen again. I'll lose it. I know I will."

"At least no one can say I didn't try the compassionate, willing to listen and understand approach. Usually works with most teenage girls. Quite the conundrum. Way to be different and throw me off the simple, easy to follow for the both of us game plan, Dawn. Excellent," Enapay thought, his eyebrows slightly furrowing in modest frustration.

"Look, Dawn. No one needs to die, right now. At this point, it's just not necessary. I was never gonna kill aaanyone if that's what you were thinking I was gonna do." He cast a momentary, blantant glare at Alex, then looked back to the troubled girl in front of him.

"Have you ever actually killed a man, anyone, before, Dawn? If you have or if you haven't, you should know it's not easy with it on your conscience. The claim of justice or self defense doesn't really cut it, God forbid you actually do or did it out of malice. Unless you're sick or just heartless, doesn't help a damn thing. Also, I don't know what specific baggage you're carrying with you, whether you were victimized, lost someone, or multiple people, or whatever else. We've all gone through some serious shit since The Event. But being bitter about it certainly won't help you and it certainly won't help the rest of us. If you need to talk it all out with someone who genuinely cares, I'm here," the teen said, taking in a breath.

He then calmly continued. "And if you don't want to, if you wanna just hold it in an let that poison of emotions fester, don't hold us or yourself back because of it. I'm saying this and I'm the one with the real rage issues. Please, for me, for the sake of everyone, get a grip, like I did, and just let this go. You don't wanna tell the kids that you burned Sparkly alive, I'm sure. We won't seem so nice to them, then...It really is as simple as being willing to calm yourself down and calming yourself down...or at least it is for me. Don't brood, just try it." Enapay frowned, in a slightly more childish fashion than Dawn, hoping she would listen.

Voltage just sneered at his opponents.

"Don't try to be sentimental with me," he said coldly. "I am your enemy after all. What's to say I won't try to kill you again? And," Voltage added, sneering nastily, "Even if you take me down, there will still be others who are more than willing to kill in the name of our plan!"

Enapay returned Voltage's sneer.

"What an ego on you, huh? I case you didn't notice, nobody's trying to talk to you, jackass. I'm not gonna waste my cares on your kind of heartless, irreverent trash. I'm trying to calm down my friend, who's all worked up over your stupidity. Your ill-conceived agenda. My God, shut up," the boy returned matter of factly. "The only thing you have worth saying is who you're in cahoots with, and I'm sure Alex cares about getting those details more than I do. Okay? Okay. Shut up."

With that, he returned his attention to Dawn, hoping his miniature speech affected her for the better.

He reply to Voltage snick remark.

He boasted "If that is the case then we will just kick these others arses just like what we did to you! Even if they are more powerful."

Although Voltage said nothing if these others are more powerful than him he was trying to second guess him since he had watch way too man heroic film in the past.

Dawn bit her lip.

"Not... not directly, no," she said quietly. "But isn't it better to deliberately destroy an obviously evil man than it is to let him kill however many innocent people? It's easier to justif--"

It's at this point she finally looked at Enapay, eyes narrowed in a desperate attempt to dam back the tears.

Dawn had to forcefully remind herself of Enapay's rather short temper, and convince herself this is probably what he was talking about. Even so, the temperature jumped a few degrees.

John Coleman said:

She swallowed hard. Her voice hardened a bit. "I'll try to do better." Under her breath, she added, "Thank you."

The air temperature dipped a bit as she removed hand from her face and looked at first Enapay, then Alex apologetically, her face becoming more neutral, except for a massive blush. She swallowed again and turned her attention back to Voltage, her face more stern than angry now.

"Always. And thank you for hearing me out," Enapay said with a brief, reassuring smile and a gentle pat on the back. He then sighed, casting a chastising look at Voltage. The look in his calmly narrowed eyes made it clear that he deemed the Asian teen, for the most part, insignificant. He started for the entrance to the orphanage, walking casually with his hands in his pockets.

"Since you've clearly got this all handled, I'm telling everyone that they're safe and then, I'm probably goin' to sleep. Should I call the cops or somethin'?"
