"Don't try to be sentimental with me. I am your enemy after all. What's to say I won't try to kill you again? And even if you take me down, there will still be others who are more than willing to kill in the name of our plan!"
"Yeah. We've kind of figured that." Alex replied. "Still, we want some answers from you, and I'm not risking you zapping us again, so giving you a coating of flammables should do the trick."

John Coleman said:
"I'm telling everyone that they're safe and then, I'm probably goin' to sleep. Should I call the cops or somethin'?"
Alex groaned loudly at that. For nearly three full minutes, this kid hadn't shut up with his talking about emotions and other tripe while he, Marcus, Erica, and Dawn, whom he had spent all that time talking to, were busy keeping an eye on their captive who shortly before had been blasting them with electricity. "No. We'll handle it from here." Alex said, holding back more frustration. "Stupid...gah. At least he's going away."

Marcus then produced the gas tank, which was fully severed from the car. Even in the moonlight, Alex could see the tank's fluid level; about one third of the tank had gas inside. That was more than enough, with maybe a gallon to spare. "Perfect." Looking around to everyone nearby, he cleared his throat and spoke to all of them. "OK. I need someone to cover his eyes with something, and make it tight."

"Whaaatever, Alex," Enapay said in an uncaring response to Alex's groan, never actually turning to look at him. "What the poor guy has to say really isn't important to me, right now. I'm sure you think that's so stupid of me, and you can go ahead, but a bed sounds a lot more appealing than listening to Sparkly talk about The Legion of Doom, or whoever else. It's not like I'm planning or quite willing to start a whole vendetta against them or something, at least not right now. Not exactly some superhero, here. The current threat is nuetralized, so I'll rest easy for the next few hours."

Enapay went through the door, calmly closing it behind himself before anyone could respond to what he just said, and, once he was in the room they'd occupied before, yelled, "Okay! Alright! You don't have to worry, now! It's safe! Everything's under control and that sparkly guy out there won't be threatening you anymore, you dig!?" After a moment, Enapay could almost feel the excess of tension leave the area. They had probably heard all the superpowered racket.

Once everyone had settled down, Enapay sought out Laura. "So, about your lodgings? Seeing as you're running an orphanage here, I know you're strapped for a lot of things and I'd hate to be a further burden, but do you have any beds open? If so, how many? Need to know if I'll be napping on the floor or not." Enapay slightly frowned at his last sentence, but he really would sleep on the floor if him getting a bed meant displacing someone else.

Erica shrugged. "I think we'd better put him in a place he can't get out until we figure out what to do with this guy. Maybe the basement would be a good choice."

She paused and looked at Enapay. "And I'm not sure if calling the police would be a good idea, seeing as some of us are probably going to be wanted after that little scuffle earlier . And the power's out anyway, though I'm not sure if the phone lines still are up either."

Ben had meant to act, seeing an opertunity to help but with Enapays rashness at every moment there was little else he could do. Between Enapay and the firebug, there was never an opening, but with Enapay, the firebug, and Alex working together, along with help from everyone else, Voltage's threat was reduced from a tesla coil to a D cell.

"Well, that's over." Ben said, looking around at everyone. Most of them were focused on Voltage except for Enapay who, despite the situation, seemed to be hitting on the smoldering firebug. 'Utterly shameless, aren't you? Well, no matter to me. In fact, I think it's about time to get out of here, before anyone notices me any further...'

Quickly he dropped Roars power since it would do him no good, and made a move to get away. He stayed close to the building and moved away from the group without a word, sliding behind Alex and Erica to keep himself out of sight while they were preoccupied. Just far enough to get around the corner and get out of the moonlight that shed its glow on the streets, the only light now that Voltage had blacked out the whole area.

'Alright, safe...or at least relatively so. Now to disappear.' he thought, focusing on Enapay. His muscles bulged as he copied his power and then leapt up, scaling the side of the building by jumping from window to window and climbing up drain pipes. With Enapays enhanced body it made this look easy, not even needing to catch his breath when he reached the top. Yeah, it felt good. In fact, he almost felt stronger than the last time he used Enapays power. Maybe with the prolonged exposure he was absorbing more and more of his power.

Either way, now that he was up on the roof, he had to make a decision. Where was he going to go now. Still, it wasn't as if Voltage was gone, but they all seemed able to handle him. Or at least the should be able to. Sneaking over to the edge of the roof though, he peeked over at the group in the street keeping as low a profile as he could.

Looking around at all the faces guarding him, Voltage tried to ignore the pain still burning in his left hand. The crushing force of Alex's shoe pinning his hand on his swordguard were causing the pain to reach their peak, making his fingers and palm feel numb.

Trying not to shed any tears, Voltage almost missed the final parts of Enapay's speech against him. "...Not exactly some superhero, here. The current threat is neutralized, so I'll rest easy for the next few hours."

Had he really gone down this easily? He was able to black out a number of blocks, yet this misfit group took him down to such a level? "No. This was seven against one. That's why this..." Voltage then began to fume silently. What was he doing? He, a being who had shown his powers to all his comrades, who could wield electricity and a sword so well, was letting them give them a chance to interrogate him? "No. I refuse to let you."

"OK. I need someone to cover his eyes with something, and make it tight."

As he thought that, he concentrated enough of his electrical powers into his dermis to make the smell of ozone fill the nearby air. They would not be cocky towards him. He was retaking command, whether he died trying or not.

"Is that ozone?" Alex asked suddenly.

Without a single word, Voltage yelled out when he heard that question and at once came a sharp loud 'boom' from the bubble of electrical current that grew from his body. The force blew all of the Omegas near him away by about five feet, some of them twitching on the ground as they landed.

The gas tank that Alex had been so cheerful about earlier caught a spark as it flew away from Marcus, igniting as it came close to hitting the ground. The impact caused the plastic container to crack, leaking more gas into the street and the now growing fire. He wanted to do something to stop it, but his body was tingling from head to foot.

As Voltage stood up, he didn't bother rubbing his hand. He had had enough of this. Raising his one good hand to the sky and his focus on Enapay, he could feel his powers coming to an apex. Before, he had only struck dirt and earth to make a statement; now he had a target, and nearly on command, a bolt of lightning streaked from the sky, striking Enapay in the head. The force conducted to the ground through his body, blowing large chunks of dirt sky high as a result, forming a crater under his feet.

The strike was quick, but brutal; exactly as he wanted. The Omega was down, but likely not entirely. He knew lightning strikes like what he could generate wouldn't be enough to take someone out. His sword was for that.

As the rumbling from the strike subsided, Voltage started running, taking his katana by the hilt and drawing the blade effortlessly. As he closed the gap between he and Enapay, his weapon in both his hands, he began to yell, his tone full of bloodlust like a battle scarred samurai. Then, the strike came.

With a single quick motion, the point of the blade entered the Omega's chest from the spine, jutting out the sternum with a 'shink'. For a time, neither of them moved. Voltage was fuming, panting, wanting to draw more of his power to end this. His body sparked from his emotions mixing with his natural electrical powers. He hadn't done this in so long; the feeling was addicting, and satisfying. Yet, like any addict, he wanted more.

Yanking on the handle of the blade, he drew it from Enapay's chest, blood streaking in a fine rope as he did so. Now, with one hand on the blade, he swung his sword in a horizontal arc to his left. With the impact, the blade's edge cleaved the Omega's neck, severing his head, and the two parts fell into the artificial crater below. With a snarl, Voltage was now swimming in the old feeling of ecstasy.

When Alex watched the event take place, his blood ran cold and he felt drained of life. He was shaking, numb, frightened, everything a man would be after seeing someone murdered in such a manner. "No." He said weakly as he tried to force himself up. "No, no, no, NO!" His emotions then whip-lashed to anguish as he fell back down due to his feelings of numbness.

"Do you see?" Voltage said, his tone still overflowing with bloodlust. He readied his katana, his body still sparking. "This...is what awaits you. Death at our hands, and the many who wish our ways to take root in the world."

The force took Roar by surprise as it blew him off his feet. He quickly recovers and got back up since he does not intend to taken down for the second time. He felt a bit dizzy but what he saw wasn't an illusion. He saw that Enapay was decapitated by the hand of Voltage.

Roar shouted "No!!! You b******!!!"

He is now having conflicted feelings of anguish and anger. He is trying to restrain his anger knowing full well should he use his roar feeling anger or hatred, his roar will become lethal to the point of death. His mind can't stop reminded him that it was thanks to Enapay who had found him and lead him to stop the riot.
This reminder led his anger overflow him that he adjust his knob again so that the range is narrow but the sound is quiet. He is planning to kill Voltage with a sonic blast in a silencer type of style. Before he gets to open his mask, the mask felt stuck as it seal tight. The seal mask is preventing him from unleashing his roar at Voltage. He is puzzle at first but be remember that Professor Mizu had told him about this new feature on the mask.

Danm it won't open! I got to avenge Enapay! I didn't get to tell him that I had seen him before weeks ago!"

Marcus was set flying backwards by Voltage's attack. He ended up as a twitchy puddle momentarily but quickly began to reform himself. Marcus was rebuilding himself from the top down and had barely finished his waist when he saw Voltage kill Enapay.

"Oh God, no?" Marcus whispered, stunned at what had just seen. Then rage boiled up in him, a seething anger unlike anything he ever felt before.

"NOOOOO!!!!" Marcus yelled as his fury exploded. He didn't bother to reform the rest of his body; he simply shot into the air, stretching forcefully from the waist to propel him upwards. Once the bottom of his body left the ground and he was airborne, he looked like a jet of liquid that had been shot out of a high-powered nozzle, except for his head and torso at the front of it. His arms had been reshaped however. He shape shifted them into blades similar to the one he used to cut off the now leaking gas tank. Rather than one blade, this time his arm split from the tip of the blade down to the shoulder, creating another arm with a blade tip. Marcus split both arms again and had three blades on either side of him.

With an enraged roar of "WHYYYY," which, while he was focusing more on Voltage than anything, began to take on a gurgling quality as if he had been speaking underwater, Marcus thundered down towards his target. His blades swung madly, fueled only by his fury at the death of his friend.

Erica froze, watching the horrible scene unfold in front of her. While she had seen many things over the past 5 years, but this... this was something entirely new.

She was frozen to the spot, unable to think, unable to do anything but stand there watching blankly as the others charged at Voltage to avenge their fallen companion...

From his perch up on top of the building, Ben had a front row seat to everything. Enapay carelessly turned his back on the omega, and Voltage capitalized on his mistake. The raised edge of the wall shielded him somewhat from the thunderous shockwave of the lightningstrike but there was nothing to save him from the gristley scene below. From where he was, there was nothing to be done as he brought the chaotic omega down to his knees and then took his head off.

Closing his eyes for a moment his heart sank, moreso when the cries of anguish and anger rose in the air. These people...didn't know death. But then why would they? They were all surface omegas living the privilaged life. As for himself, he'd gotten used to death long, long ago and seen more than he felt any one person should. That was life in the undercity, kill or be killed, or hide and never come out again. But hiding didn't make the death go away, it just made you an audience.

Looking back over the edge, they were all rushing in. Roar was fiddling with his mask and the morph was making blades out of himself. They were going to be next. Between lightning and a sword, Voltage would cut them down without breaking a sweat. This group needed help if they were going to survive, and no one else was smart enough to help them out.

"Alright, what do we have here...a whole lot of nothing. Streetlights, cars, mailbox, parking meter...corpse...rocks, hydrant. His lightning is harmless, I just need to stop the sword" Ben contemplated as he scanned the area. Just the sword...Alex had a hammer. It was heavier than he liked, but it would work.

Enapays power was fading fast. Without him, there was no source to leech from, and it was almost gone now. Getting up and running to the edge of the roof, Ben grabbed a drainage pipe and slid down to the ground focusing on the null area where Alex was. As soon as his enhanced strength was gone, he knew he had him.

Dashing out into the street and around the corner, Ben passed by Alex at a full run, reaching out and snatching his warhammer while he was in a state of shock over the death of his comrade.

"Just borrowing this!" Ben yelled back as he grabbed the hammer up by the head. Using Alex power he sheered the metal, thinning it to the point where the head simply broke off leaving a jagged point on the end of the handle. Now it was much lighter and he could use it to block a couple casual sword strikes. Everyone else was charging Voltage head on; Ben wasn't gong to be so stupid.

Passing everyone by he did his best to look like a panicked civilian even screaming out for help to add authenticity, getting out of sight as quickly as he could and circling around along the edges of the buildings. In the moonlight, his light blue jacket blended well against the grey stone of the buildings offering him some camoflage. Hopefully, whether they died or not, they would distract Voltage enough for one good shot as he broke away from the buildings and walked into the street. Releasing Alex's power and picking up Voltage, he prepared himself. While holding Voltages power he couldn't be shocked, that left the sword. Deflect it, block it, whatever he had to do. Just impale him with the handle if he could, tackle him if he couldn't. Either way, he was the only one that could.

Dawn watched her newest friend's head roll to the ground, her eyes wide, her mouth partially open. Her whole body went limp and refused to work. She looked as if she couldn't comprehend what had just happened. Her skin stopped smoking and all the excess heat from her waned. The area even felt a bit colder.

She watched in shock as the group rushed the murderer, using whatever weapons they had with them.

Even her brain refused to work. Her breathing was shallow. She felt as if she should pass out, but was just too in shock to do so.

Then, the heat began to rise again.

"WHYYYY,"

Seeing one Omega, his hands and arms forming into twin sets of triple blades, coming his direction, Voltage redirected his power into his right hand, sparks dropping to the ground as he did. When the blades came for him, he leapt and thrust his arm down at the ground to fire a single blast of electricity from his palm.

The maneuver launched him up further and away from the range of the blades, his body twisting in a side flip as the Omega ran underneath him, cutting nothing but the air. Landing behind the attacker, Voltage wasted no time in planting his foot on his foe's backside, kicking him away before regaining his stance.

--------

"Oh, hell. This guy..." Alex thought as he finally got his knees, shaking off the numbness from before.

ShadowKatt said:

"Hey, wha..." Alex stopped himself as Ben ran for it with his hammer in tow. He hadn't crafted it for anything besides a simple weapon, even if he put some extra effort into making it. He still had the knife he had made back at NYSU, but he couldn't make that work. Anything metal would make him more of a conduit.

He shot a glance at the gas tank, now on fire from the leaking gas and Voltage's shockwave. His idea of a Molotov cocktail was out the window with so much of the gas burning. He needed something else to serve as a weapon, and there was plenty of loose concrete around. Going for a good sized chunk, he removed his gloves and tried to focus on the weapon he wanted.

--------

His blade held out at stance in front of him and his left hand on the sheath, Voltage's gaze went over every Omega, watching for any other tricks from them. Then, he saw the one from earlier who had borrowed his powers trying to flee, but he wasn't interested in chasing a straggler.

"Keep coming, and you will be cut down." Voltage warned, his voice now losing some of it's rage from before.

With his mask still stuck he quickly found a place to find to gather his thought. He got behind a broken car and kneels down and closes his eyes.

I must calm down but I can't stop seeing what just happen it was horrible and cruel! Voltage must be taken down but should I use my roar in my angry state, it will be too lethal to everyone. Don't forgot what happen when I shouted out loud at my parent since I was so pissed off at them. They were killed and I brought down my neighbourhood. Voltage will be defeated but not at my angry roar. I must seek vengeance for Enapay sake, not revenge.

He started to calm down and suppress his anger but not his anguish. He then hears a "click" sound coming from inside of his mask and he opens his month. The mask is now responding to his month movement so he is now in control. He got up and saw the situation. He didn't waver from Voltage threat.

He shouted at him "I will show you why I am called Roar, the Omega with the sound of fear!"

The mask opens out matching his mouth as he roar like a fearsome animal. The mask had altered the sound wave in a narrow pulse like travel toward Voltage.

Suddenly his throat felt swollen and he stops his roar but the sound should be enough to hit Voltage. He run his throat with his hand and realise what the cause of it. Tears had run down onto his face and he had suppressed his sadness to the point that it had swollen his throat.
He analyses the distance between him and Voltage and knew that Voltage will recover first before he had gotten close to him. He then saw the others closer to him.

He cried "Take him out now before he recovers from my roar!"

This was it, it had to be now. Roar blasted him with the best 'roar' he had in him, and this gave him his opertunity. Whether the roar worked or not was irrelevant. If it disoriented him this would be much easier, but even if it didn't it should still keep his attention. This was the opertunity he was looking for.

Both hands wrapped around the handle of the now beheaded warhammer, leaving a good six inches of that cruel tip on it. He started to walk towards Voltage, then faster, jogging, and then breaking into a run. He didn't yell. He didn't shout. Two fast breaths and then he held his breath, the only sound of his approach being the small patter of his feet along the pavement that he tried to negate as best he could rolling his feet to avoid any heavy footfalls. As fast as he could move with the spike in front of him, held at chest height to impale him.

Marcus stretched his hand out towards Voltage while he was disoriented. In a second his hand expanded and clasped around Voltage's head and neck. Marcus made sure to block Voltage's nose and mouth then he began to squeeze in an attempt to cut off the villains air supply. Marcus saw Ben coming towards Voltage and made sure to give him a clean shot to Voltage's chest. At the moment, he didn't care how Voltage died, either from suffocation or from Ben's attack, just as long as the villain died.

With his head turned away towards the fleeing person, Voltage wasn't ready to counter what happened next. He heard a voice to his right, which was immediately followed by a rumbling in his chest that shook him greatly. He started to shake as his adrenaline surged, making his sword noticeably tremble in his grip.

Then came the onset of a jolting fear, one that he had no idea what it's origins were. His pulse racing, he backed up one step, and was caught by the same Omega he had just kicked away. They were quick to try restraining him, but as the metal flesh of the Omega wrapped around his face, he then saw the other from before, the one who had tried to run, coming at him with a short spear.

Bracing for the stabbing, Voltage gathered his powers again, keeping them from arching out of his suit. He needed this to be focused as best as he could to free himself, and for that to happen, he had to drop his sword.

Upon letting the sword fall, his left side was met with the sounds of metal piercing flesh and fabric, and pain exploded from his chest to his limbs. He tried to yell out, but his voice was blocked by the metal around his face. This was it. The time to act to save himself, but he was now starting to feel drained.

Focusing his charge into his hands, Voltage pressed his hands on the waist of his attacker and discharged what he had. The effect was the Omega getting blown back off his body, and the recirculating current made him feel somewhat better. Now, for the one who had so foolishly tried to stab him; he now recognized him as the one who had shown he had electrical powers too.

Taking the shaft of the spear in one hand, Voltage pulled it free from his chest, though not without searing pain and the allowance of more blood loss, which he tried to cap with his other free hand. Wrestling the weapon away, he followed with a strike to this Omega's face with his right calf, removing the second attacker with a satisfying thunk.

Now breathing heavily and starting to feel weaker from the loss of so much current, volts, and amps, Voltage knew he had to retreat. If not now, very soon.

Erica jumped at the sound of Roar's voice.

"R-right!" Crystal claws bared, she ran towards the fallen Voltage, intending to end it once and for all...

----

Up above, however, Phantom knew things had gone too far, and that it was time to leave.

"Looks like I'll have to cut things short..."

He spread his hands wide and the shadows answered his call, spreading over the battlefield like a dark cloak. As soon as he was sure the darkness covered everything, however, Phantom made his descent, travelling through the shadows as easily as a swimmer goes through water.

In moments, he had reached Voltage and wrapped tendrils of darkness around him, pulling him in close.

"As much as I dislike you..." He quietly told the asian teen, "The boss would have my head if I let you get killed so easily. Just remember that you owe me..."

And with that, he retreated into the darkness, which swiftly vanished along with him as soon as it had come, leaving nothing but the remains of battle behind.

Marcus was blinded by the sudden darkness and lost sight of his target. As soon as it lifted, he realized that Voltage was gone.

"Goddammit! Son of a *****!" Marcus yelled in frustration.

Roar had run toward Voltage as it suddenly turn into darkness.

"What the hell?" Gasped Roar as he saw his vision is filling with the blackness.

As the blackness vanishes he saw that that Voltage had escape. He felt gutted that he had gotten away as he turn and stare at the corpse that was once Enapay.
