Spyro.
The first Spyro game was the first game that I played 'til no end. Played the third one a damn lot as well, and the second a bit(I think it broke, 'cos I remember having it... then I didn't).

Anyway... The triology was awesome. What happened afterwards was a disgrace.

Wanted to find the picture of the new model for Spyro, but Google was of no help. :<

lol, I can think of so many...

I'll keep it at three:
Also known as Nightmare, from the Soul Calibre series. A decent guy that comes across Soul Edge, and loses himself to absolute corruption for many years, becoming a rampaging avatar of death and destruction. He eventually gets all the pieces of Soul Edge together, and gets rid of Soul Edge, essentially tearing his own soul asunder. He finds redemption in Soul Calibre, and does a complete U-turn, becoming a scion of righteousness, in order to destroy Soul Edge, and it's current manifestation - Himself - utterly. He also wields a Zweihander, a sword larger than the Buster Blade, like a toothpick. To me, he is one of the most badass guys ever.

Also know as 'The Major', from the Ghost in the Shell series. She is technically a female, but she has been through so many bodies (shells), that it no longer matters. She is extremely intelligent in tactics, people, politics, and pretty much everything. Not only is she the commanding officer of Section 9, but when combining with an "artificial intelligence", she boosted her already considerable hacking skills, and made the definition of what it means to be human, even more gray. For me, she represents my dream of what humanity will become, and made me realize that my own body is essentially a shell to house my own ghost.

As the undisputed Queen of gaming, she has destroyed more aliens, and saved more worlds, than any other female in all of gaming, and for a while, people did not even know she was a she! (some people still don't know, but they have never played Metroid/heard of Metroid/stupid). She'll be my first tattoo, and if I ever have kids, her name will be somewhere in their's :D

Jim Raynor
Just taught me to fight for what I find important.
Plus, he's easily one of the most badass men to ever walk the face of any planet he's ever been on.
Once Dragon Age 2 comes out, my first character will be dedicated to him
Raynor Hawke, here's to you.

Leon Scott Kennedy, Resident Evil.

He makes me want to learn the way of witty one liners.

For me its a character from a book series that I really hope to see a game of, but good it would have to be extremely well done or the makers would get lynched. The character is Richard Rahl from the Sword of Truth book series. Those books are made of win!

General Grievous. Most bad-ass bad guy I've ever seen.
A close second would have to be General RAAM from Gears of War.

Vito Scaletta. There was something about the stereotypical Italian Mafia guy that I really liked.

EDIT: And I also really liked "That Spoony Bard". (READ: Utter Sarcasm)

Ryu from Street Fighter, the way he just lives for the next fight.

Keeps me focused.

Mordin Solus of Mass Effect 2 due to a certain song and a few certain "pre-romantic cutscene" statements..

And Lightning of Final Fantasy XIII. Personality, outfit, whatever. I just can't forget her.

Who doesn't like a suicidal, tortured, immortal warrior who goes back in time to kill his former self to create a paradox in which he would no longer exist?
