This is my story:
I have no friends. No friends at all, whether you count work friends, friends from school, Internet friends, friends from no-where in particular... None at all. Up until recently I've been fine with that, since the things I like to do (reading classic novels and epics, and comic books of all kinds) don't require friends and anyway I'm kind of antisocial. But lately, I've wished there was someone I could talk to and be with, so I've decided to get a friend. The problem is that unless I go to school (it's summer vacation) or have a job (I quit my job due to the incredibly bad pay and the terrible way they treated their immigrant workers) or have other friends to introduce me to someone (I have none, remember?), getting friends is tricky. It's not like some stranger with good taste in books, comics and movies is just going to sit down next to me on the bus and start talking.
Except that's exactly what happened. Go figure.
Unfortunately, that was before I decided to get a friend, so I politely declined the girl's offer of meeting again. (And here's me thinking no girl would ever beg me for my phone number.)
But half a year later, we met again on the train station. We were going the same way, so we talked for an hour. Again she asked for my phone muber or e-mail or something, again I declined to give it to her.
The third time we met was four days later at the Gothenburg book fair. The same scenario happened, and this time I seriously considered starting a friendship, but decided not to. Her parting words were "Maybe I'll see you at the next book fair."
So it's about three months to the next book fair, and until then I can't contact her. I have no details about where she lives, but I wait patiently for the book fair, where I'll meet her again. She was at one of the booths, helping her brother who's an editor.
Of course, I could try to contact her. She only told me her first name, which is a common word, like the English name Promise, but thanks to clever deductions I managed to figure out her name and even find her Facebook page. I can't contact her through facebook, though, because I'm determined to stay away from things like that. Still, I could contact her by writing her brother at the publisher he's an editor at, but I'm not too sure how that'd work.
So here I am, not sure what to do.
