PC for TF2 alone. Team Fortress 2 on the 360 has never been updated. You're missing out on a ton of content if you don't buy it for the PC.
Actually, it has been updated approximately 3 times.
That said, PC, far superior (coming from a guy who spent in excess of 500 hours in the xbox version, a dozen or so on the PC so far). You cannot deny the extra content. Make sure you have a working mic, though.

Thanks, it seems like Im definitely going with the PC. Can anyone give me a clue as to where to buy it? I see that its on steam alone for 19.99, but apparently one of my friends has gotten the whole Orange Box for roughly 20$ before.

Also, which class should I start out with, as someone with a good deal of experience in Team Work centered FPS (L4D, Halo, Gears, ect)

PC.

Hands-spanking-down.

But for somewhat different reasons, I don't really give a shit about the servers being updated and all of that. What I do care about though is that the PC version allows you to install mods. Sweet, sweet delicious mods. The Half-Life/Source Engine modding community is big enough that it's like getting a whole bunch of games for the price of one.

Thinking about it, that should still benefit people playing primarily multiplayer because once again there are numerous multiplayer mods and user made maps for existing games.

Oh God I wish I had a good PC, I do so miss gaming on them.

if you buy the orange box second hand out of like game stores you can add it to steam and it functions the same as any other game on steam

A cursory scan of Play.com and Amazon.com tells me that Steam is probably tour best bet. Might wanna do a little more digging, though.

What kind of playing style do you have? Long or short range? Support, defence, or offence? Damage or speed?

Could there be some DRM issues there? I forget.

PC definitely. And with steam, you have no excuse for not getting it. If you don't get it and half-life within the week, you don't deserve a computer!

Steam is a good place to be, especially if they do a deal on it. They had the Orange Box for £3.50 at one point, I bought 7 copies in 48 hours :p They do random deals, but they're usually cheaper than anyone else anyway.

As for what class: do what you feel. Go in, make mistakes, see what works. I play as a rusher, I like getting close to targets and one-shotting them with a shotgun, so my class should be Scout. I suck with a scout, my primary is Heavy, secondary is Demo. Bare in mind that you can change class at any time, so if you're having an off night as a sniper, try playing as something else.

For Team Fortress 2 go with on the PC there's lots more stuff being added at a constant rate. As for Half-Life and Portal not much difference that i can see upon first glance so either/or for that matter.

You can probably find it retail at local stores like Walmart. It should be around the same price as it is on Steam.

And as for the classes, its really hard to pick a class since TF2 is so balanced. Its difficult to pin one down as the easiest to get into, but I suppose that I'd recommend the heavy since he's probably the most straight-forward of them all. Once you get a good idea of how each of the classes function, you can try the other ones. Personally, I prefer Sniper btw.

The PC has, among other things, constant updates which include new maps, weapons, etc.

If you are using a key which has already been activated, you need to send them a picture of the reciept, among other things, then they'll de-activate the code and send you a new one (or something like that.)

It's a bit of a hassle, I'd buy it new if I were you. (Or directly from Steam.)

PC. TF2 on the Xbox was almost non existant when I last tried. It also does not have the downloadable updates as the PC does. TF2 especially. There have been no class updates on the 360. That's why I got Orange Box on 360, realised how good it was then got it for PC soon after.

Just try them all, and you will almost certainly find one that you love.
