As a system, sure. But the fact that there is alternatives now such as the xbox 360, with the biggest name games being multi console, only strengthens my point. The fact that it had no comptetition only emphasises how amazing it was. Nothing COULD compare to it. As for the ps3 being just as good, i dont agree. the games that came out for psx ( i thought they only called it that in japan?) were groundbreaking and new they were brand new titles with new ideas, stories, things were tested back then, people tyhrew out crazy ideas that often worked. Now? Most games we have are sequels and if not, are simply the same game as others on the market painted a different colour.iron codpiece said:You're looking through a memory lens. The Ps3 is just as good as the ps at the time. It's just at the time the PsX (as they called it) had no real major compition the only other system still used cartridges so it DOMINATED. Well I guess the sega saturn came out somewhere in there too but it doesn't count.
The Sega Saturn Died for Our Sins.
Maybe the psx simply had the fortune of being 'born' in this era and it was the era itself that spawned this gaming goodness, in which case.. That era surely is better than todays?
