We are 16 days away from the Playstation Vita's official launch date in the United States, and there is at least one very excited gamer awaiting it's launch. In fact, I have pre-ordered the First Edition Bundle from Amazon and will be awaiting my PSVita with furor.

There is a number of reasons I am excited for the system, but more than anything, I am excited for the games. With awesome AAA titles announced like Resistance: Burning Skies, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, LittleBigPlanet, and Modnation Racers: Road Trip, as well as other, smaller titles like Escape Plan, Gravity Daze, and Super Stardust Delta, the system already has enough games coming to keep me playing for a long time.

I'm also really excited to see what the system is capable of later in its lifespan; The PS2 had God of War II as a phenomenal swan song just prior to the PS3 launch, and I cannot wait to see what developers bring to the Vita.

I would love to hear what other people are looking forward to with/on the Vita and why. Let's discuss, escapists!

While I initially was going to get it at launch (I got the cash for it), I decided to wait a little longer...well at least until Gravity Rush comes out. I have other priorities to deal with before I can drop the money for it, and saving up a little more cash means I can get a shit ton of games when I get it.

My amazon basket already has a wi-fi system, 16Gb stick, and several games in the basket waiting for me to press the 'buy' button. Might go all out or the 32Gb stick, but 16 would do me just fine as I like my physical copies, leaving digital for games that are only digital.

-Gravity Rush (while everyone else is jacking off to Uncharted, Gravity Rush is the premier title for me)
-Uncharted
-Sumioni
-Shinobido 2
-Resistance
-Wipeout
-Blazblue
-Marvel vs Capcom
-Capcom x Tekken
-Super Stardust
-Rayman Origins
-Escape Plan
-Army Corps of Hell
-Ragnarok Odyssey
-Lord of Apocalypse
-Disgaea 3
-Ruin
-MGS Collection
-Killzone
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma
-Tales of innocence R
-Ys4
-Unit 13
-CoD
-Bioshock game

And games I wanna see on the system *crosses fingers*
-Dissidia 3, God dammit Square make it happen
-New Syphon Filter game
-New SOCOM game, can we get a new SOCOM: Tactical Strike pretty please?
-remake/port os Ys5, and Origin....or just make Ys8 (ie: new installment)

uh...I'll think of more later.

Yea, there are ports on that list, but I don't give a shit. EVERY god damn system launch has ports/mediocre games at launch, but there are still always those few games that shine and show off the system. A system needs time to grow, and devs need time to bring out the good stuff, so a few ports/remakes ain't bad as there are still gonna be a few unique anchor games.

I'm looking forward to Lumines Electronic Symphony, Ridge Racer (because it isn't a proper PlayStation launch without a new Ridge Racer) and Wipeout 2048.

I also pre-ordered the First Edition Bundle at Amazon.

I'm right on the edge of buying it. I just need one or two more games I really want to be sold on it.

I'm looking forward to Sony caving in and making them backwards compatible, the only real salvation the Vita has unless - as I've heard numerous times - they put on Monster Hunter games. I've never played MH myself, but I hear this was one thing that made the PSP take off. Without those, I don't really see much point in it all.

I had no intention of buying a PS Vita, because I had no intention of also buying a memory card that only the Vita will use.
And then I saw the trailer for Touch My Katamari. Fury eventually led to accepting eventually led to desire eventually led to HOLY SHIT THEY'RE MAKING LUMINES VITA eventually led to Hang on, why don't these covers have "Only On Playstation" logos on this leaflet that I got from EB games? eventually led to This means that at some point, these games had to have been planned for releases on other consoles eventually led to fury again. And so the cycle continued.

Waiting for the upcoming price drop and some good games to come out for it. only Katamari interests me thus far. Rolling out Uncharted and Resistance once again doesn't interest me in the slightest. And Modnation and Little Big Planet look the same as on the Ps3.

Not to mention the console seems to be doing poorly in Japan. Like falloutjack said. Needs a Monster Hunter to bring it back to life....already. And unfortunately it seems Capcom are focusing on the 3DS for Monster Hunter at least for now.

That and I'm not happy it isn't backwards compatible with the PSP games and to play them I'll have to buy them again at a premium price (most being 2 to 3x the amount paid for the PSP versions)

I got "rewarded" with the 3DS price drop because they panicked when sales weren't going well. For the crime of buying it on launch. So I'm going to wait a few months before I get my Vita.

Yes I am still bitter about it Nintendo.

I'l wait for the price to drop, because trust me, it will drop!

Its a lovely bit of kit, but I really don't think this will sell well.

I might buy one if they get rid of the buy to replay old games crap, it drops in price drastically and has several good srpg's out.

that being said, i don't think this will go well at all for sony. (and it shouldn't with the bullshit they're pulling)

The title selling the system for me most is Tales of Innocence R. And other titles of most interest include Touch My Katamari, Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja, Persona 4, and Ragnarok Odyssey.

To be honest, I'm not all that impressed by most of the other titles so far, though. And I may have to buy a few generic things and hope that they're good just to have something to play on my system and make it more worthwhile. Like Ridge Racer or Hot Shots Golf.

I'm not interested in Street Fighter x Tekken at all since it's coming out for Steam. If I have it on my PC, I don't really need it for a PSP.

Didn't you take advantage of the free game offers they made for people who bought the 3DS before the price drop?

Yes I did and while I do think that was their best course of action in dealing with pre-price drop customers, I personally didn't buy a console only for it to tumble in price after a few months. Regardless of how many prezzies they dress up for me to make up for it.

Well, learning of a new Resistance game on the Vita gives it a one up to the 3DS.

My deciding fator between the two is still which one gets the Monster Hunter release first though.

*Grumble, grumble, gt a 3DS*
Anyway, the Vita certainly looks cool. I'll probably grab one eventually, but money's tight with me having to pay for the martial arts lessons I'm paying for instead of taking in-school PE. The price should drop a little by this summer, though, and I should have money then, if nothing else catches my eye.
