Awesome! I've heard lots of people claim getting shiny Pokemon at greater rates in X and Y, I wonder if they lowered the odds for getting them.Johnny Novgorod said:So anybody want to refloat this thing?
I would be cool with it, which type of game would we do? The last letter game, or the type game?Johnny Novgorod said:So anybody want to refloat this thing?
We could do last letter, type, draw, new thing, Whatever people vote I suppose.Hero of Lime said:I would be cool with it, which type of game would we do? The last letter game, or the type game?Johnny Novgorod said:So anybody want to refloat this thing?
It appears you misquoted...Johnny's post was quoted twice!Hero of Lime said:Awesome! I've heard lots of people claim getting shiny Pokemon at greater rates in X and Y, I wonder if they lowered the odds for getting them.
I didn't even notice that. xDHeadsprouter said:It appears you misquoted...Johnny's post was quoted twice!Hero of Lime said:Awesome! I've heard lots of people claim getting shiny Pokemon at greater rates in X and Y, I wonder if they lowered the odds for getting them.
Yeah, I gotta admit, that did cross my mind. Not sure what my opinions on the lowering the odds are. But I suppose 1/8000 and something is a bit much considering you rarely find close to 500 Pokemon in a single playthrough.
I'd be up for a drawing game. It'd be different.
What do you mean by this?Hero of Lime said:Instead of alternating between Pokemon, we would each update with our own pictures of all the Pokemon when we can.
The generation thing was a suggestion, but I do want to try drawing them all too. What I meant was that when we play these games, we can't post twice in a row with the next Pokemon in line for example. If we do the drawing game, there would be less restrictions in that regard.Headsprouter said:Hmmm. Choosing a generation would be really hard for me, personally. My favourites are so widespread among them, and I'd like a chance to draw them all...
Then again, with no restrictions, people will just draw their favourites and be done with it...

Ah, so just a "whenever you're ready" kind of dealio.Hero of Lime said:The generation thing was a suggestion, but I do want to try drawing them all too. He came up with the idea so he would definitely be for it. I wish I avoided more spoilers for X and Y, but it got hard when Pokememes and the internet in general were spoiling things left and right.Headsprouter said:Ah, so just a "whenever you're ready" kind of dealio.Hero of Lime said:The generation thing was a suggestion, but I do want to try drawing them all too. Yeah. Seems okay. Still need to make sure everyone's up for it, though. Morsomk should be a yes, but he's probably avoiding this thread for obvious reasons.
As soon as I saw the first spoiler, I completely abandoned pokememes and the gaming side of memebase in general. I'm only halfway through X (I presume) but it's certainly a candidate for one of my favourite generations. I think the main thing making it so good is the discovery aspect of it.Hero of Lime said:He came up with the idea so he would definitely be for it. Yup, seems fine. At one point in the anime image game things did get pretty crazy with ninja-posting...Johnny Novgorod said:We could draw them in order. Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, etc. All the way through X and Y. Include Mega evolutions as well (also in order, i.e., Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Mega Venusaur). And we could post the Pokemon's name ahead so we won't step on each other's toes.
I beat the champion last night, definitely one of my favorite Pokemon games. I would still consider Black and White my favorite of the series, but by far the 3D presentation is my favorite style now. So when they make Fiery Black and Electrifying White in eight years with full 3D battles, it will be glorious.Headsprouter said:As soon as I saw the first spoiler, I completely abandoned pokememes and the gaming side of memebase in general. And everything else. Seeing Pokemon done justice in 3D, etc.
As for Pokememes, I won't return until I've discovered every new Pokemon for myself. Like I said before, I don't even know what the Z legendary looks like! Pretty exciting.
Ok, whatevs. At the minute the only thing on my mind is a possible confirmation. I just found a shiny Dugtrio.Hero of Lime said:I beat the champion last night, definitely one of my favorite Pokemon games. Man everyone is getting shinies in X and Y but me it seems, which is funny since I've had a lot of luck with shinies in other games... I probably would've called the Dugtrio Flooregard personally. xDHeadsprouter said:Ok, whatevs. At the minute the only thing on my mind is a possible confirmation. I just found a shiny Dugtrio.
So, yeah. Implications of that and stuff are the boost in the likelihood of finding shinies, as you mentioned.
In SERIOUS reply, I agree, the 3D style is my favourite so far, I was never very into how things looked in Colloseum and things like that, but the cell-shaded anime-like look the Pokemon have in X and Y is awesome.

Crap nature, though. Mild. I was never too into Dugtrio, anyway...
Sounds good, I will probably do it in the order of the Pokedex, though I won't be posting as often for sure.Johnny Novgorod said:Alright, I'll edit the OP and anyone can start if they wish.
You are just tripping over shinies at this point, I'll start tipping people as much as possible then.Headsprouter said:![]()
I am going to kill the guy who approved this thread.
Wait...it was me, wasn't it? Nevermind! Let's push forward! Things will get better!
EDIT: Found another shiny...one of the new ones...beautiful palette. Got cocky, made a mistake and fainted it. Totally gutted.
Some people connect it to tipping. I've tipped quite a bit, so I'm inclined to believe that.
Pumpkaboo. Black and purple. What a shame...
