The results in this thread are tiresomely predictable.

As for myself:

I am pretty centrist, which is about right, but I think these questions skew to the left side of things. For example I like business, but I hate multinational corporations. Not because they are unfair to average people, exactly, but because they are more powerful than many governments.

So I like business and people being allowed to become wealthy... (which should put me to the right) but the questions often took that sentiment and phrased in a way that I suspect was counted as leftist. Kind of odd.

Oh, it's also strange that there weren't more neutral answers. I honestly don't care about some of those things.

I expected to be more on the left and literally break the chart on the libertarian scale.

I haven't looked at everyone's results, but for what I've skimmed, I may be the most Libertarian of us all.

I took the poll a few days ago, ending up pretty much where everyone else is.

For federal policies, I'd be really far bottom-right. For local/state policies, I mirror everyone else in being bottom-left or center-left.

Unfortunately, this test can't account for that, when it is a very important distinction.

Glad some people are finally seeing just how COMPLETELY IDENTICAL Obama and Romney are, though.

Wow, didn't think anyone would beat my score. My only flaw was some of the questions were strangely worded so I didn't vote "strongly" on some items. Anyway, word.

Here we go!

Looks like I fit the Escapist general population pretty well.

About what I expected, to be honest.

Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarion: -7.85

Overall, about the same as most of the people here. Not terribly surprising.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.74

That's a LOT more 'Left' then I'd say that I am.

Funny I thought I'd be more towards the left than this but yeah this seems about right

primarily in the middle but just a tad right leaning. I do have one complaint about the test and it's that there's no neutral option, just varying degrees of yay or nay.

I found another test:
You are a social-democratic cosmopolitan. 1 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 10 percent are more extremist than you

A lot of these questions are horribly worded. And other questions just have absolutely no bearing on anything. "Astrology accurately explains many things."

Economic Left/Right: 6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.56

I went back and ran the astrology question saying that I believe in astrology and it gave me Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.10. IE Closer to libertarian. How does this help determine my beliefs in social freedom or social restriction. Astrology is bunk, but that doesn't mean I think people shouldn't be allowed to use it if they want to. This test is moronic.

http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz Is a far more accurate test. The questions aren't worded horribly, and they actually have something to do with the beliefs they are trying to measure.

Not really surprised about my results. I wouldn't call myself an anarchist (which is what it almost calls me) but I do tend to side with liberal and more open (at least, about certain issues) policies.

EDIT:

Oh I always love doing these little tests and quizzes. Pretty much where I expected the dot to be.

Wow I thought for sure I was going to be different from everyone else as I put a lot of emphasis on government authority but... I guess most of my answers put me the other way.

Look! Something different!

Yeah, this is pretty much how I thought I'd come out. Maybe thought I'd be a little further right, but not much.

I seem to have similar to most other people in this thread.
The lack of diversity in beliefs slightly disturbs me... We need more opinions people! MOAR I say!

And Now a different test.

Woo?

Eh, not very surprising... though, I didn't think I was quite so extreme... always felt a bit more moderate...

Than again I usually just go, "What would Jello Biafra do?" when making social and economic decisions...<.<
