So, now I have a Keyblade...and apparently also Boobs, that's part of her powers, right? (Aqua, KH: BBS)
You know, the Keyblade was so much more impressive when we thought there was only one of them, but now it seems like everyone and their dog has a Keyblade and the significance of it has diminished considerably.
OT: The Hero from Dragon Quest VI; so I have the power to warp between the real world and the world of dreams?
If you know the lore then Sora's is still kind of special. But...all in all I agree, it became overkill for me the moment I saw Kairi fighting with one in KH2...I was like ''WTF!? How is it that everyone keeps telling me I'm this super duper special Keyblade Wielder but apparently a Hobo that found one in a Alley could do this?''
Edit: I now have the power of being really good a kicking people (Hworang, Tekken PSP)
Well I recall hearing from a friend of mine that there were supposed to be 3 main Keyblades, 1 for the world of Light, 1 for the world Darkness, and 1 for the world of Twilight (no, not
that Twilight). I believe the one that Sora wields is the one from either the world of Light or Twilight, I'm not sure which, and Mickey wields the one from the world of Darkness (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong). I've not played any of the spin-off games (Birth by Sleep, 365/2 Days) so you probably know more about this than I do. But yeah, it was after that same part of KH2 that I began to question the significance of the Keyblade.
As convulted as the Plot has become, I'm surely not the best guy to explain it. Basically it seems alot of People can generally wield a Keyblade (there are far more then 3, we're talking hundreds, thousands...google keyblade graveyard), they however have to be choosen by a Master and a Keyblade itself has to choose them. OK! So far so good? Apparently the Keyblade Sora has, was originally intended to be Rikus (which you know if you played the first Game), but then Riku went all bad and yadda so the Keyblade and the Worlds themselves decided Sora should be their Hero. So, now Riku has a different one, but Sora is special in the sense that he was given the Keyblade without someone explicitly deciding he should get one.
Atleast this is what I THINK is the reality of it, fact is, nobody can say that they KNOW as vague as the Game and the Director tend to be. If I were you I'd just consider every instance of ''OMG it's teh KEYBLADE MAST0R!!!1!'' in the first Game to have never happend, it will save you a headache.
But that is at best the tip of the Iceberg...if you have time (lots of it) and the ability to cope with the fact that the story is pretty much tied in 20000 Knots, hit up KHInsider or the KH Wiki, that will get you up to speed...not that it would be necessary, but if the 3rd ever actually comes out and you intend on playing it, I recommend you take atleast a Day to understand what the hell is going on and why there are so many things that were anything but obvious in the first two games that however nearly all took place before the second game.
