Hello my fellow escapees, today I bring you a message of great joy and wonder:

The Sexism-CommuniCast will make a triumphant return with another episode!

And this time we're going to be dealing with the hard stuff.

Sexism not in video games, but in REAL LIFE.

Yes, scary as the real life may be, we will delve into the deepest depths of depravity and discuss the impact sexism has on the daily lives of my dear participants and maybe how we, as a group / a species / individuals can fight for equality by doing our part in advancing humanity towards a better future.

The participants so far:

a Men's Rights activist.
Darken12 said:
a gender studies student. (Major?)

ot just your run of the mill smurf, but our beloved forum cat-fanatic.

Has been asked before

You are hereby cordially invited to join us for another discussion.
Rest assured that my rule about not allowing any slurs or insults still stands firmly.

Scheduling:

I can May 8, 22:30 GMT.
Are you up for that? (I only really need my participants to answer this...)

Now, why am I blabbering on about this?

Because I want YOU, yes You, my dear readers, to make suggestions on which points you want to see discussed in the SexyCast as it shall from now on be known.
Are there any specific subsections you wish to see discussed?
A sexism-related topic close to your heart you want to hear my participants opinions about?
Anything that strikes you as too important to leave out of a project such as this?

The Rules of this thread I want you to follow:

1. Every serious suggestion is equally valid but not every suggestion will make it into the cast, and the suggestions my participants make are more equal.

2. Do not attack anyone whose suggestion you do not agree with.

3. Do not start a discussion based on the submitted suggestions. The discussion is to take place in the CommuniCast, not in this thread.

And to my brave participants:
Should a suggestion strike a chord with you, please inform me about it, since your opinion does bear a lot of wheight here, seeing as you are the ones who will discuss the topic and the suggestions at hand.

I think it would be a stretch to call me a MRA, surely I´m too lazy to be called an activist. But I do support stronger guardianship of men´s rights in the west, as well as better guardianship of women´s right in the developing world. I´m not even armchair aware enough to comment on japan, china, india or other asian countries.

I can´t promise I´ll make this wednesday, since I´ll be leaving thursday for a trip for undercover men's rights activism having fun in berlin and might need to make additional preperations. I'll probably (90%) be able to make it though.

Hope that's good enough for you.

Why not name a few recent forum sexism subjects? Or pick one or two issues from feminist/ mra websites?
Just to be clear, for you and all here, I am talking about the 1.5.2013 of course.
(That is the 1st of May for all you americans out there.)

And I do hope you manage to make it.

Might I suggest to consider bringing evilthecat [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/evilthecat] onboard? From what I've witnessed he's one of the most knowledgeable people around on the whole gender/feminism/sexism topics.

If all the aforementioned participants can make it, I already have 5 people, which is the upper limit for a good podcast, otherwise everything gets to convaluted.
But I will bear him in mind for another episode, should this one prove to be satisfactory.

Ahhh bad timing. I'll be going out with a feminist that night.
Is that sarcasm?
I can't tell over the internet and I don't want to offend anyone by assuming one way or the other...

You won't offend me that easily, but it isn't sarcasm.

It's a joke and it's also the truth.
Sooooo can you do it that night?
Can't you?
I am quite confused.

If anything happens with the date (such as her boyfriend needing her that night), then I'll be there, but don't count on it.

Enough being coy, sorry. I likely won't be there. I've got some plans for that night.
Bugger.
How about the week after that?

Just a quick question; how does one get selected for this insane and magical Communi-cast?
The guys I mentioned here applied for a position before my first communicast was even finished.
So if you want in on the next one, I will mark you down.

It depends when it is, to be honest, but you can mark me down for interest.

Count me in! I'd be delighted to join in on the conversation. I can make it on Wednesday (May 1st, right?) at that time (I'm GMT -3, so that'd be 7:30 pm for me, which is very accessible).

[sub](I'm a biochemist. The gender studies are a hobby. :p)[/sub]

Sounds good, I don't have anything on that day.
I'm Evil Smurf and I meow this message. What does that time mean for me? Can we have it in the morning Australian time?

If you want just any Communicast (as in, not this particular topic), then just join the usergroup [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/CommuniCast-FailCast] and keep an eye on the chat/news updates. Or, heck, just ask what the next one is going to be or propose a topic.

OT: I liked the last one (I can't remember but I might not have commented in the thread), so I'm interested in the new one. Would you have a list of topics/questions beforehand or would you go with a vague plan only?
