good, as much as i like the simpsons, it's getting tired, it's reached its end.

Some may crucify me for saying this but it's the same as HIMYM, it's lost it's touch and it's getting less and less funny, as much as i love both shows, they should know when to call it quits and go out with dignity
I think my friend worked out that there can only be one or two more seasons left based on the kids ages but knowing TV shows they'll run it right into the ground and screw everything up.

OP: You just can't beat 'The Shining'. Still makes me laugh everytime.

Its one of the funniest simpsons episodes ever.
the show is just tired now.

Yeah, sack the writing staff, not the actors.

Thank the gods. I enjoyed it a little, sure, back when I was in 7th grade or so. It's been boring, forced and often pretentious for well over a decade and the sooner it's gone, the better. Groening's cash cow should've been put out to pasture long before that movie.

I love how that they sat there is a possibility of the Simpsons ending, and everyone imedietly starts assuming it's set in stone. Even if it does get cancelled(which I doubt will happen), It'd probably end up getting revived anyway.

Yeah it makes way too much money. I don't think it's gonna happen.

As far as I'm concerned, the Simpsons should have been cancelled instead of Futurama. But nooooooo! They had to drag it out and turn it into the lumbering zombie it is now. And then Futurama was resurrected and look at how terrible that has been since. So thats two great shows that have been ruined. *Weeps*

Not only that, but this thread was posted hours after the news thread that told this story like it actually was: an unresolved dispute. Here you are proclaiming in black and white that the Simpsons is going to be cancelled soon. You didn't search the forums, you didn't check your facts, and now your sensationalist topic has mislead everyone that clicked on the link to this thread.
he's admitted he's in the wrong though.

I highly doubt it will be canceled. First off, it's still one of the biggest shows on American TV. The Simpsons are very well-known, even if it isn't as popular now. It has the 'household name' status. That's enough to keep it going.

Secondly, really? They're not willing to take a (roughly) 50% pay cut on $8 million a season? Let's do some math for how much time they actually work:

20 minutes per episode (excluding intro, outro, and ad time. Also assuming all 20 minutes have some form of talking for each VA).

22 episodes in a season.

Let's be generous and say about 20 minutes of actually vocalization and getting ready per minute of episode time.

20 X 20 = 400 minutes
400/60 = 6.66 hours per episode
6.66 X 22 = 146.66 hours per season.

So for just under a full week of work, they get $8 million dollars. So they're going to quit if that gets bumped down to $4 million instead? Yes, I know they do have to do a lot of other things, but it's still a stupid amount of money overall.

"Getting" tired? Hell, Simpsons was tired by the time South Park came along, which itself was played out years ago.

Funny you should say that about HIMYM tho, since I was thinking a similar thing partway through last season, but now I'm well into it again.

Horay I guess, well it's better that it end now than later. Honestly thought do the voice actors needed that much of a paycheck assuming wheater or not they live a luxary lifestyle? Well I can easily forseen the last episode will take a stab at Fox just like they did at the start of the first Futurama movie.

I haven't watched the simpsons in years so im a bit indifferent towards its cancellation. But as far as my favourite bit goes, it has to be from 3.12 onwards in my linked video, watched it high once and it's tickled my funny bone ever since.

I think its about time it went.
It still has funny moments but mostly now they are moments where you laugh then realise how sad or dark that actually was.

My favorite moment of Simpsons though?
....
Ok I can't find it but the one I was looking for was where Homer's mother arrives for the first time.
After he climbs out of the grave they have and they have an emotional moment and then Homer says he always spoils the moment. Than a pelican flies down, lands on his head and drops a fish into his pant. Homer then apologizes.
Anyone have the clip?

It won't happen, Fox still makes too much money off The Simpsons. How else are they going to fund the rest of the shit they air. The Simpsons will end when the creators want it to end.

Personally I think they should end it sooner rather than later as no show that has gone on for over 20 years can stay completely fresh.

As for my favourite moment of The Simpsons there literally too many to choose from. But I always had a special soft spot of Homer's legendary scarcasm.

They stopped being fun along time ago, I miss when there were fourth wall episodes like behind the laughter and shit.
Simpsons shouldve ended around 14 or 15.
And the movie was stupid and a waste.
