I use to like it, until I kept seeing repeats. I was over it by the time new episodes came out.

My big issue with South Park is it's not funny, most of the jokes are just beating you over the head with the subject and adding "that's gay" or "you're gay for liking it" and then swearing. that's not really funny at all, it gets rather tiring after 10 minutes.
Thats not even close, it's obvious you hardly watched any South Park or you just hate for whatever reason.
i've watched enough and never found anything they've done to be funny. they are much like Andrew Dice Clay cept less funny, they are vulgar for the sake of being vulgar. shock comedy can only go so far before it gets dull and tiring and they go so after the first season.

so far every episode i've watched has had cartman saying "shut up guys" or a form of "you're all stupid" at least 5-6 times a show, if that's his catch phrase, great but don't say it every 5 minutes in the bloody show. Homer doesn't say d'oh every episode nor does any of the characters say their catch phrases more than once for the most part

really south park is a tired show that's not really funny and tries to shock people for humour, which was done better way better in Duckman, which South Park stole TONS of jokes and gags from, such as killing kenny all the time

Simpsons was good but it got stale after Phil Hartman 'died'. I can't believe it's still going and in fact that people's loyalty would lower their standards so much to think it's still good.

I think it's the worst adult comedy animation out there. It seems Matt Groening prefers Futurama anyway.

South Park and Family guy are where it's at for me.

I loved the gags in the older episodes of the Simpsons, and still do, but the new ones just lost their touch for me. I haven't watched it in ages.

Personally I rate those top animated comedies:

1.Family Guy (yea it's stupid and repetitive and nonsensical, but I laugh at it more than the others)
2.Futurama
3.South Park
4.The Simpsons

South Park is (among other reasons) great because of the very up-to-date topics and powerful satirical commentary.
Somalian pirates. Hurricane Katrina. Child molestation by Catholic priests. Indiana Jones. Terri Schiavo. American Idol.
To name just a few.

Yes, there's a lot of toilet humour in the foreground, but that's not what South Park really is all about.

I grew up on Simpsons so they win by default.

I do recognize that sometimes other shows gave me more laughs, but I'll always sit down to enjoy a new episode of the Simpsons, not so much for the other shows.

My twin's right Futurama is still the best followed by American dad.
American Dad is just a bad episode of family guy

Have you watched Borat? If so, did you find it hilarious?

actually the Simpsons do it a LOT better than South Park does, at least in the Simpsons, they at least vaguely hide it behind subtle things. South Park is so low brow they have to beat you over the head with it and tell you what they're poking fun at. the Simpsons let you figure it out but it's still funny if you don't get the reference, ie the song in the monorail episode

the Simpsons have done tons of references to modern day things, they just hide it a lot better than South Park could ever imagine to and still make it funny even if you don't get the exact reference

Borat is rather different humour and most of the shock humour in it wasn't all that funny, there was a lot of parts that weren't funny in the movie but parts of it were, unlike when i watch South Park and they beat you over the head with the joke

I think Groening said they'd only consider stopping when they had at least one episode for every day of the year. So we just have to wait for him to run out of ideas.
I believe they've actually hit episode 400 already.

Like any show, the Simpson's have lost a fair amount of quality and nuance. The show is still worth watching, but it's not exactly light years ahead of the competition these days. If we look at some of the more "classic episodes", we find some of my favorite half-hours of television ever. Simply put, "You Only Move Twice" (season 8) is the greatest 23 minutes of American television that has ever been produced.

No it was amazing from seasons 2-8, okay from 9-12, and has sucked from then on with only one or two funny episodes per year.

Simpsons was great..then honestly it got meh..but it's actually pretty funny again from what i have seen. I haven't tivo'd it or been a frequent viewer in years, but i think overall it's safe to say that it is still king.

I have no idea how Borat suddenly became apart of this but I don't find that shit funny. You keep saying beating you over the head with the joke in South Park but honestly have no idea what your talking about.

All I have to say is I like all the animations and they all have a different style of comedy (humour), I don't just laugh at "haha thats gay haha" because I hardly even notice it in South Park. If you can pick some little things you don't like about show, fine. But don't make it out that everyone likes a shit comedy show because South Park is brilliant in it's own way.

If we are going to compare everything to the Simpsons, then I am going to say the older Simpson episodes are still the best out of all and it's a show everyone can love.

Also I have never heard of Duckman so I'm going to check it out.

they do beat you over the head with the jokes and what they are doing or poking fun at and there's little to no depth to the jokes itself, ie if you don't understand the reference you won't find it funny. it's very low brow, lowest common denominator humour
