The Slender Man is the most terrifying ghost story I've ever heard.

What doesnt help is when people who believe in it alter the Wikipedia page, and make it look like it's real. Christ, I'm a wimp.

Truth be told, the Slender Man is the only modern myth to ever 'get me.'

To bad the X Files was gone already by the time he came about.

That's because the slender man represents that tree branch in your window or a garbage bag blowing towards you in a foggy dark night or that rustling sound that you heard in the bushes.
It's that person your parents told you to watch out for and it preys upon your paranoia.

No offence, but I watched the first thirty seconds of that, and then thought, "I'm not liking where this is going and closed the tab. Again, I stress that I'm a wimp.

The first time I noticed him was brilliant. It was one of the original pictures I think.

Basically, someone posted that, and I didn't notice him for the longest time. Then when I saw it, it scared the absolute shit out of me. It's one of the best myths around, in that regard. Perhaps it would have been better if he were more human like, to accentuate the uncanny, but nonetheless, it was well done.

haha same, its the only like myth thing to actually properly creep me out, i only found out about him recently and it pops into my head whenever i go to bed or go outside in the dark, something about the word "slender" makes him scarier to me as well.

also a picture of him with loads of kids that look to have been kidnapped really scared me

they are in the woods with their hands tied and he's behind them all, the caption underneath said it's a picture that was taken as evidence by the FBI when 14 kids disappeared mysteriously

it was an actual case but whether the slender man behind them is real is up to you

i would post a link to the picture but im too afraid to see it again lol

I had no idea about the slender man until I read this thread (so I started watching the Youtube videos and saw the pictures) but...I can't see what's scary about it. Probably since I already know it's fake?

This might come off as mean... no offense but if you're interested, you should probably read more ghost stories, there are far better.

Slenderman sort of reminds me of Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. Now all of a sudden he's not scary anymore...

I love that clip sooo much :D
ysereg Average

And i have to say, the myth is well spun, when looking up the material one night it gave me a little shiver.Knowing that something is purely fictional doesnt mean it cant be kinda scary, thats what the horror genre is about.
Just like that creepypaste about that kids show...what was it again *googling* Candle Cove . Loved that one.

Can you spot the photoshopped image?

Hint: It's the bit that has an obviously sharper resolution than the rest of the picture.

These things could be scary if they didn't look so fucking fake.

Okay someone explain this to me, please.... What IS Slenderman?
Where did he come from and why is he well known?

For a while I thought he was a character from one of Yahtzees indie games, but it seems I'm wrong.
