This might come off as mean... no offense but if you're interested, you should probably read more ghost stories, there are far better.

I read my fair share (which maybe why i'm so prone to becoming paranoid to storys like the slenderman) when i was younger. I'd very much recommend Shirley Jackson's novel Haunting of Hill House, it's one of my favorites. Or some of Susan Hill's ghost stories, Woman in Black in particular, if you're into the stuff, I imagine you'd enjoy 'em.

This is specifically a spoof of Marbel Hornet, a fake film which had clips of the Slender Man (or the operator as he is called in that film) in.

haha same, its the only like myth thing to actually properly creep me out, i only found out about him recently and it pops into my head whenever i go to bed or go outside in the dark, something about the word "slender" makes him scarier to me as well.

also a picture of him with loads of kids that look to have been kidnapped really scared me

they are in the woods with their hands tied and he's behind them all, the caption underneath said it's a picture that was taken as evidence by the FBI when 14 kids disappeared mysteriously

it was an actual case but whether the slender man behind them is real is up to you

i would post a link to the picture but im too afraid to see it again lol

Can you spot the photoshopped image?

Hint: It's the bit that has an obviously sharper resolution than the rest of the picture.

These things could be scary if they didn't look so fucking fake.

It might be possible that some people don't notice the sharper resolution. I can't and i'm LOOKING FOR IT.

Where did he come from and why is he well known?

For a while I thought he was a character from one of Yahtzees indie games, but it seems I'm wrong.

Slenderman is a very tall creature who wears a suit, has no face and has multiple, very long arms. The first picture of him shows loads of kids running towards him and supposedly all the kids die later that day. The picture is so creepy because the Slenderman is in the background, very unnoticeable,making the picture slightly more believable.

You can't see the thing in the background with a resolutely shaper outline compared to the rest of the people in the picture?

It looks like someone printed the thing off seperately then glued it onto a photo.

Well, he's supposed to only exsist because people think about him...

That's the stories theme, yeah, but he's not a real thing. Multiple people have owned up to the creation and expanation of the Slenderman story. Marble Hornets is the biggest.

I quite like the idea of the mockumentary, but I have to say, the guy in the video CANNOT sell that story for the life of him.
His speech is all wrong for the kind of video he's making, and saying things like "unknown whether he absorbs, kills or takes his victims to another dimension" just sounds silly.

Tempted to construct something a little more convincing myself.
Plus I'm English... the accent all good documentaries are done in.
