I find myself oddly obsessed with Slender Man. He scares the shit out of me, but I find him incredibly interesting even though it's fake.

Ah! This old internet chestnut. A little while ago i read a thread saying that this guy had a great idea for a horror game. A game where you were being hunted by the slender man. When originaly read that thread i had no idea who or what the slenderman was. There was an abundance of links given to short videos about the slenderman. I became curious so i watched some of the video's and the momments after that led to an extended period of sleepless nights and elevated electricity bills.

For those of you still in the dark of this strange figure i shall post a link below explaining what this thing is

For those of you who do know of the slenderman will most likely know that it's quite pants filling creepy. As i delved deeper into the scene surrounding the slenderman i became somewhat determind to find out as much as i could about this guy, I didn't like what i had stumbled upon and became childishly paranoid about what is essentially an internet myth.

Depending on the responce to this thread i shall continue to tell of my experience of how i became phobic o the slenderman

P.S this thread has probly been done before and i apologise for that.
P.P.S I know the slenderman is old news but im intrested in reading about your experiences
p.p.p.s I know it's all fake

I was ready to believe in him and be so fricken scared, until the bit with the voice saying "John isn't here" over some very familiar stock sounds. Then I just couldn't take it seriously, plus the fact that the very first result in Google is "Slender Man | Know Your Meme" doesn really held. That said the idea of using old art was somewhat clever.

Hahaha, given that I've seen Marbel Hornets this is quite amusing. It doesn't make Marbel Hornets any less butt-clenchingly terrifying though...

You do know the best way not to shit your pants is by not caring about such ghost tales? And if it does sound interesting don't even think about checking out the vids or try gather information about it.

Your the only victim.

Ah, Slendy. That dude can scare the shit out of me when its night time. Hell I even know he's a myth purposefully created to be creepy, but still. When its night and no one else is awake but you, it can take some effort to simply look out a window. He doesn't quite scare me as much as when I first found out about him (that was a restless night), but given the right time I can get pretty paranoid. I meant there's that whole thing about the more you focus on him the more likely he is to take interest in you.

And also how he might exist simply because we think about him so much...

Now just don't think too much about that bit of glitter at the end...

I looked into it in a 7 day period, extending my sleepless nights by a good week or so more than I needed to. I know it's fake, but the Slender Man is something that really piques my interest. Maybe even give the guy a backstory as to who he was, who he is, why he chases children out of his forest, what about him makes him so scary. I have an interesting idea that I really want to follow up on at some point.

Just so you know barricades won't stop him from manifesting and give you the sudden urge to put on new pants
Well, they will in the physical sense. The idea is that he is of physical and of spiritual existence and is limited in the physical plane. So the barricades would stop him for a brief period of time but he isn't limited to when you sleep. As you walk, when you feel those cold eyes watching you from behind, he's there. He doesn't want to catch you, he wants you to suffer under the fear of him being right there behind you, as you breath, and you being able to do not one thing about it. Leave your door open and he will enter while you sleep. Leave your window open and he will get in while you're out. Drive to work faster than you should and you'll find his cold stare looking at you, bleeding you from the inside, the second you get out.

There is no escape. No barricades can stop him forever. No speed can out run him. He's already in your head, he's got you already. Now all you can do is run. Run from him, run from your home, run from yourself.

Sleep tight.
