Richard dodged them and figured he could at least limit Aaron's water supply. He knew all plants relied on computers and they relied on electricity. He started cutting every power line he could see in the area. His plan didn't need electricity anywhere near as badly as Aaron's did. He let his targeting system hit the lines as he focused on dodging the shards. He used the gun on his other shoulder to continue to harass Aaron, soon enough he wouldn't have new water being pumped in.
"Jason's right. Richard can handle this," Katie added. "I wouldn't call it sparring, though. I think Aaron's out of control." But why, though? Does winter really have affect him that badly? If so, he's probably going to be incapable of helping out until spring returns... Katie smiled to herself at the thought of her favourite season. It was a time of growth, new beginnings and developing strength.
Aaron looked around him to see that the water was slowly draining away. Aaron was tired of this, he was going to end this. He absorbed as much water as he could and added it to his muscle mass.
Aaron crashed through one of the walls and launched a couple of shards at Richard beore making several ice columms to get up to Richard's level.
"I think I got this." Richard said as he threw a couple of tankers into the air before cutting them with with his plasma turret, crude oil dowsing all three of them and the area.
"I suggest you leave Simon, and get to a nice safe distance, this is about to get fun for me." Richard said before aiming at the wall to the foundry and cutting it open. Molten metal immediately ignited the oil. Bathing Richard and Aaron in flames after Simon had already teleported away. His suit becoming red hot due to the constant fire.
"Please, we'd all be dead by now and the Promenade would be on fire or something like that," Garrus replied into the comm, "We're in the infirmary. It's a bit chilly so get a coat on your way here. Aaron went a little crazy, Rich is handling him though."
"I heard some stuff on the scanner about some trouble down by the water purification center. Sounds like it's supers, think it could be them?" Tommy asked as he put walked into the infirmary, he didn't bring a jacket, like most men he prided himself on an ability to "tough out" the cold.
"I think that's about right. We're trying to figure out why Aaron went crazy; most popular theory is that it's the weather," Garrus explained, going to take a seat in the infirmary before deciding that that would not be a good idea.
"So now we're waiting to see if Rich can finish Aaron. And if not then we'll go and help," he explained.
"I don't think Leland affected Aaron," Katie said, carefully walking across to Tommy. "Although I do hope Richard will just subdue him... we need all the team members we can get." The leafy hood around her neck shivered, creating a prolonged rustle; it was too cold for the plant. Katie chuckled nervously. "I should probably leave the infirmary, and meet up with you guys later. Right now... I don't really know what to do to try and help." She made her way to the door, slipping slightly on the floor.
"Nah Leland left. Said he was getting bugged by Dona and probably felt bad getting snubbed again. He did leave us cake though, and he mentioned something about a job he was going to do, so I really doubt he had anything to do about this. Then again you can never know with him," Garrus replied with a shrug, heading out of the infirmary and back to the lounge.
Khrys said something unladylike as Simon vanished leaving her there. Jogging she arrived at the infirmary and hung back listening to the others talk about what was going on.
Affected by winter? That just seemed silly...but who knows.
Katie walked out of the infirmary, thinking about things, and almost walked straight into Khrys. "Oh, hey," she said, looking her up and down. Khrys appeared to be slightly exhausted. "You look like you've been doing some hard exercise for a while. I take it you've been working out in the gym?"
Khrus blinked at Katie wondering how she knew that before mentally shrugging off the strangeness. "Just a little play. Its hard to get a good work out. I came as soon as I could, will things be ok?"
"I don't know. Aaron and Richard took off somewhere," Katie answered. "They're probably fighting in the city. In the meantime there's really nothing we can do, but I want to get some food. I haven't eaten since before the mission earlier." She began walking towards the stairs. "I'm going to the gardens to grow some produce. Would you like me to get you anything while I'm out there?" Always happy to help, that's the way we work.
"Sure, no problem," Katie said with a smile as she walked down the stairs. She passed Garrus in the lounge and headed for the gardens. Once outside, she paused, thinking about a number of topics, but Jason was on her mind more than any other thing. When Katie had kissed him earlier, he had seemed to be a little resistant, as if he had thought... she was being too forward. Was that it? But how could it be? She was only giving what she had received. Maybe Jason wanted to take it slow. Perhaps a couple of dates and a seed-planting session together wasn't enough to merit some alone time.
As Katie thought, she sat down in the garden, the mysterious plants Tommy had wanted her to grow occasionally peeking at her. She quickly caused a few fruit-bearing plants to grow near her, plus the cucumber Khrys had wanted. She laid on her back in the grass when she was finished, and wished with all her heart that Jason was there with her. She imagined the two of them spending some time together, free from any distractions caused by the rest of the city.
A hellish scream filled the air. Aaron was totally engulfed in flames as he melted away. Aaron's body was slowly reverting back to normal. Though in one last ditch effort Aaron dug one of his claws into the ground. He made a giant ice spike appeared underneath Richard. The spike almost reached him though it stopped short by a couple of inches.
