The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

Jason thanked Patriot as they landed amongst Garrus and the others. He too, managed to capture a long glimpse of the suits retreating.

"Where do you think they might be headed? Think Gerard was somehow able to tell Omoi that we were coming? Maybe they're going to protect their leader?" Jason asked in a low, thoughtful voice, stroking his chin with deep intrigue.

 

[CounterAttack]

"How would they know to pull back to Omoi's hideout?" Katie asked as she untied herself, wrapping the vines around her waist in case they were needed again later. "I doubt Gerard could have informed Omoi that we were going after him in time, considering the speed of our assault. Unless Omoi's a psychic or something - which wouldn't surprise me these days, considering that I didn't know magic existed until I met Tommy and Leland, but I digress - or he has some sort of technological reason for knowing what happened, then he can't possibly know we raided Gerard's base."

"We could have set off an alarm, but I doubt Omoi trusts any of them with the defense of his base. If anything they will be regrouping while they wait for orders." Richard said, he was still trying to figure everything that had just happened out but figured he could at least put it aside until after the mission was complete.

"So you guys going to tell me where Omoi is so I can deal with him?" Camille asked, crossing her arms as she watched the last of the suits retreat.
"Hold on mom. We need to figure out what we're going to do now. We should probably strike pretty soon so that he doesn't have time to escape," Garrus responded, "Certainly don't want to have to chase after him all over again."

 

[CounterAttack]

"If we're gonna catch up to him soon, we'd best do it now," Katie chipped in. "Though Omoi will probably send a company of suits to destroy the Promenade as soon as we head off to his location." She turned to Camille and asked, "Do you think the rest of the Union can hold off another large force if we all jump up and head out?"

 

[tsatoma]

"Of course they can," Camille replied, looking over the battlefield and seeing some injured Union members getting up and tending to their wounds. "Yeah they'll be fine. They did a better job then some of the people on your side..." she trailed off, gesturing to some of the fallen heroes, "And if Major Crime stays here then they'll certainly be fine. And if we get over there fast enough then the forces that will attack the Promenade will be sent back to help Omoi. So are you guys going to tell me where Omoi is now?"

"Not if it means you running off ahead of us," Garrus replied, flinching when he got a stern look from his mom in reply.

"He's right Ms. Claidt." Jason said, walking up to Garrus, meeting Camille's gaze head-on, mask falling so she could his eyes.

"We've all been itching to fight this guy face-to-face ever since he's decided to make himself a threat to our city, and the world. He's stolen our things, pushed us to the edge, used us, destroyed the things we hold most dear. It's only fair that we all go together. United, as a team." He told her, raising a fist passionately.

"That...and we should all get at least one hit off him." He added with a crafty smirk.

Camille rolled her eyes at Jason's spiel, waiting for him to finish before she replied. "Even though I have more of a right to be mad at him than any of you I'll let you guys lay a couple of punches on him, but in the end I want you guys to understand that he is mine! And once I'm through with him there won't be anything else you guys can do; so I suggest you get it over with in the short time span I'll give you or else," she said, taking on a tone that suggested that those were orders and a threat.

"...okay. We'll take what we can get from you," Garrus replied after a moment of silence, "Mom maybe you should go check on Leland before we all head out? I think it'd be a good idea."
"Fine," she responded, walking back towards the Promenade.

Once she was inside the building Garrus said, "Dear god I wouldn't put it past her to kill you all if you got in her way."
"She was always very keen on the idea of revenge," Patriot said, shaking his head before turning it back to the others, "So shall come up with a plan or shall we do the good ol' fly over there and just attack plan?"

"Maybe we should determine a plan before busting in there," Katie answered Patriot. She thought for a few seconds before speaking again. "Perhaps a two-pronged attack: we split into two teams, one of which draws out the guards of the bunker's perimeter. The second uses Group 1 as a distraction to get inside the base, take out everything in their way and start the fight with Omoi. The rest of us catch up with you once we've dealt with the guards. It's probably most likely that there will be a large number of them patrolling the area around the bunker."

"I think we should hold off on the plans until we have done some recon and actually know what we are getting ourselves into." Richard said simply from where he stood. He wasn't going to contest Camille's claim to Omoi's life, even though he felt he could. At this point he figured he wouldn't be able to kill Omoi anyway.

Alister sat in the corner, a dark look on his face. After the battle he had become very tired; apparently, the high from such massive battles comes with a hangover. The throbbing in his head threatened to drive him insane as he tried to pay attention to the conversation around him. He heard something about recon and stood up, figuring he could make himself useful.

"I'll do recon if you want." He said, rubbing one of his eyes. "Anything to keep my mind off this headache."

Garrus was quiet as he listened to the suggestions, clicking his tongue before speaking up. "I like Katie's plan. But here is my suggestion: all the people who can fly will get over there first and keep the enemy distracted. We ground troops will get there a little after them and try to sneak in. And then we capture Omoi, get our punches in, turn off the suits or something, and then bring him out and let my mom deal with him. Sound good?" he asked, looking quite proud. He turned to Requiem and told him to get their mom, watching him run into the Promenade.

"Yea, but I'm the only one who touches the computer. Omoi probably has many levels of encryption and I don't want anyone to mess it up. Besides, I need to make sure all the data on the thing gets deleted so this doesn't happen again. Nobody but me understand, not Requiem, and definitely not Camille, and this isn't negotiable." Richard replied.

 

[tsatoma]

"That's fine by me," Camille said, walking towards them with Requiem around her arm. "And besides Ethan here is gonna stay with Major Crime and keep track of everything here," she told them, patting Ethan's shoulder a few times.

"So then it's all agreed on yes? Okay guys, let's not fuck this up now that we're so close. Mom you follow Richard and Patriot over there and we'll catch up," Garrus said, getting anxious now that the end was in sight.

Jason anxiously tapped his foot as Garrus talked. Suddenly he swiftly stomped, causing a long black spike to leap out of the ground in a usual fashion. Snatching it from out of the air, Jason smiled with anticipation as his mask spread across his face.

"Okay Gar. Ready when you are." Jason said, looking in his direction.

"Well, that's the understatement of the year." Erebus piped matter-of-factly.

Tommy cracked his neck, knuckles, and back to show he was ready. Finally the ending was in sight and they would all make Omoi pay for what he's done. Not to mention every second they waited was another second the rest of Omoi's army attack the rest of the world.

Richard stood up and spoke to the others.

"Alright, I think that's as good of a plan as we will get. Let's get moving before Omoi has a chance to escape." With that Richard flew off in direction of Omoi's base.

"Right behind you Richard!" Patriot said as he followed Richard towards Omoi's base, Camille following them both.

"Okay everyone let's try and keep relatively close to them, though I think that'd be a bit hard since they're already out of sight. And now time for myself to ask about getting a ride over there," Garrus said, turning towards the group as they all got ready to go.

 

[CounterAttack]

"I've got a free space on my bike if you want, Garrus," Katie answered as she pulled her keys out. "Grab it while you can," she added, making her way over to the vehicle in question and sitting astride it.

If truth be told, Katie was kind of amazed by herself and her own quick thinking, but mostly the plan she had come up with. She didn't normally think in terms of strategy, or improvise things that effectively. Perhaps it was a side effect of being with people who did this sort of thing regularly.

After a quick realization (and a quick sprint towards the garage) Jason retrieved his bike, and rejoined the group outside the Promenade gates.

"So, are we gonna go or not? I know I can't be the only here that's getting restless. I'm soooo ready to end this." Jason said with enthusiasm, sitting casually on the bike, arms crossed.
