Don't really know what you're talking about...the only thing TGWTG censors in its videos is nudity. Most everything else is fair game. :/
False. The Amazing Atheist was booted off the site for posting inappropriate content and it had nothing to do with nudity.
I thought the Amazing Atheist was booted off the site for being, you know, the Amazing Atheist.
Neither, TJ left the site of his own free will after he thought the site was giving his Distressed watcher videos the short end of the stick promotion wise.

i am surprisingly meh about this and i watch a lot of TGWTG stuff but the only spoony videos i watched were his ultima ones. and i really don't care about the background drama at channel awesome as long as they keep putting out interesting content. that may also be because sometimes i can't enjoy someones work when i know too much about them, like i always have trouble watching Mel Gibson since he made his Jesus torture porn.

While the joke was a bit tasteless, it's not actually mentioning rape. All it says is he will tie her up and love her his way. It never mentions that he'll tie her up against her will or have sex with her without her consent.

So yeah, the joke was a bit uncalled for, but I think the people calling rape are reading into it what they want to read. Heck, even Lupa herself admits the joke can only be "interpreted" as rape.

Not to mention, from Lupa's blog on the matter:

I even had a joke in The Black Ninja parodying Pointless Padding Scene Time, changing it to Pointless Raping Scene Time. The scene was just added there for comic relief, with the assumption that because it involved two guys, it was funny."
So yeah, according to her rape is alright as long as it doesn't involve women. I don't think she really has a leg to stand on here.

I get why they canned him, but they really shouldn't pretend it was a business decision. If it were purely business, Lupa would've been fired over Spoony since, let's face it, he's probably a bigger draw to the site than she is. That is assuming anyone really needed to be fired over this.

Joking about raping a coworker sounds like a firing offense to me.
It's not in good taste, but considering what kind of stuff they say in their videos(including joking about rape), would depend on what kind of a relationship they have, and how it would be taken.

But if he really did something in E3 that made other people related to Channel awesome lose chances for interviews(I have hard time finding info on it, though), that would be something I'd fire a person over.

I really don't know what personal issues there are behind this, but I don't believe Lupa planned this all to get rid of 'competition', as some people are suggesting. That would be stupid of her(since Spoony bringing traffic to CA only benefits Lupa), not to mention people don't generally act like evil masterminds.

If anything, she have had a grudge against Spoony, for what reasons, and whether she was justified, who knows.

But this is a result of many different things coming together, sounds like this has been building up for a while.

EDIT:
I've tried to find info on the E3-thing, and it seems like that claim came from Lord kat who claimed he was refused interviews because of Spoony. Which I'd take with a grain of salt.

And if it's for his 'betrayal'-rant, doesn't seem like it hurt Angry Joe when it came to getting interviews. Or Spoony.
In any case, this is about more than just one tweet.

At the end of the day, as long as everybody is happy that's all that matters in the end. Hopefully Spoony will keep making videos, but I'll understand if he stops. The only thing I really hope is neither side makes it an "me or him" proposition for any of the other contributors. I would hate to see Linkara have to make a choice like that.

For the record, the Crazy Scale goes as follows:
Nutty---Bonkers---Nutso---Crazy---Madness---Crazy Mad---Insane---Japan---Cthulu---Florida
I'm assuming most of your Cthulu knowledge comes from the internet because in no reality does Japan come before Cthulu. Cthulu does NOT come AFTER Japan. It's Cthulu, THEN Japan.
Sorry, I've been meaning to get that thing calibrated.

Petty entertaining all the way. This is some of the most fun I have had on the internet in a while. :D

Moar popcorn, anyone?
Depends. Is there butter on that or did you do the "hole in the bottom" trick?

As much as I dislike Lupa, I saw that review and she was saying that that seemed to be what the filmmakers believed, and she said it was horrible no matter the gender combination involved.

in all fairness--- it hardly matters. The Internet is a big place. The Spoony One can continue to do what he wants, Channel Awesome can do what they want and the audience can go to who they want. End of.

Everyone wins!

but most importantly... BOOMER WILL LIVE!

[EDIT]

... But Spoony must, under penalty of death by pony, get the 2nd part of his Ultima IX review out ASAP!

I really hope this doesn't turn into another ScrewAttack Handsome Tom thing.
Or an Escapist Extra Credits thing for you young'uns.
If we had to lose either Spoony or Lupa though, I would much rather lose Lupa as she never really seems to put out anything of worth.
Looks like we're losing both. There's rumors (read: RUMORS) that Phelous and Lupa are going to exit the site as well, and Spoony's already gone.
that would suck

Lupa and Phelous leaving may have been forced from on-high. I don't know anything about Doug Walker, but if he WAS friends with Spoony and, as I suspect, this whole scenario was some attempt at social climbing by Preggler and her boyfriend he may have gotten sick of the whole thing and told EVERYONE involved to get the fuck out...Spoony had become a liability to the site making money and Lupa and her beau pulled a dick move.

Oh did I read what she said wrong? Was she saying the filmmakers believed a rape scene with two guys would be funny, and it wasn't her own opinion?

Well then I'll take back what I said about that. I still think the tweet isn't really talking about rape though.
