The Strongest Alcohol You've Tried

We've bought some absinthe, it's the drink that makes you want to kill yourself instantly.

Cookies to the guy who gets the quote.

Just absinthe (or technically the watered down version thats legal in England).

I tend to prefer to just stay with regular ale.

This, except I've had the not so watered down version in Singapore. I had one shot and it almost put me out.

They also sell a slightly boosted up version in Singapore. That kicks ass.

I once had a friend down a bottle of Absinthe and it knocked him out.

Everclear. 190 proof

Absinthe 140 proof

Jeremiah Weed 100 Proof

then the rest of the liquors.

Isn't 175 the highest on that scale, equaling 100% alcohol volume? I don't know that system very well, I always use %.

Absinthe has what like 75% or so? I tried that. I also tried Stroh Rum wihich had 80% I think.

Whiskey is still the king at around 40-50% though.

Take the proof divide it by two and you get the percentage of alcohol.

so, Everclear = 95%, Absinthe = 70%, Jeremiah Weed (whiskey)= 50%

and my personal favorite is tequila which is generally about 80 proof or 40% alcohol by volume.

Edit: Oh, and I've had Mezcal and Sotol as well. Both are made down in the Chihuahua desert (Mexico/West Texas) from cacti. After drinking Sotol I literally thought I had seen God. I've got some pretty damn interesting stories about Mezcal as well, like when my friend thought he'd gone blind.

Don't drink much, but I have to say that my favorite high proof alcohol is Tequila.

Someone's moonshine was pretty potent. But actual drinks:

Absinthe, Rum, a type of hyper-concentrated local make of cider. All around the 80% mark.

That was back when I used to drink. Nowadays it's just binging on low-price tequila whenever I'm depressed. Which is why I'm posting drunk at half eleven at night.

67% Rum. It tasted like burning and completely screwed me over. At the time I didn't generally get hangovers but I was sick till 9pm the next day.

The strongest I've had the privilege of drinking is bourbon (whiskey). It was the first alcohol I ever drank, and oddly enough, it's the only one I like to drink straight-up. It's tasty.

i don't know the hardest i had i've had wiskey vodka and rum but i don't think they were that hard. i prefeer them to bears though

Try Mezcal and Sotol then, both very similar to Tequila and very good. Oh, and Everclear taste like getting hit by a freight train.

Im a Spirits man so i usually am around the 37-50 or so mark for % but once at a uni party my friend brought in what we later found out after all taking a shot of was the highest prof Absinthe, during dares an wot not i had 3 and 5 of my friends had about 5 each, 2 didn't make it 3 mins outside the flat, 1 sumhow lost her way(we were all completely gone)and the other 2 completely bombed after we got into the club.

To be fair it was St Paddys night and a good time was had by all

that we survived fairly well is quite a testament to how much we drink

Not sure on a taste, I'm pretty sure it removes the taste buds. Back when I used to drink I actually preferred tequila and Mezcal (mezcal is the one with the worm).
