Well, no, as it's just a fireball. Not even a big one compared to most other suns.
It's not guiding our evolution to cause pain, it's just there.
*Whisper* Its a sphere of ignited Hydrogen.

Its the humans who cause the pain, but the sun (if a living being) would be culpable by human law to accessory.

Without the sun there would be no us.

But on that thesis, you are basically saying no living being can exist without one single thing we need.

This is the dumbest thread I have ever heard

BTW an even better example of this absolutely ridiculous argument would be heat stroke and skin cancer.

You just made an observation that things in the world are linked, good for you.

Time for my argument!

The ocean is a murderer, remember that Tsunami?

See, anyone can do it, it is just a waste of time.

Yeah, we should ban H2O as well, kills thousands each year...
And did you know that cancers consist mostly of H2O?!?
And you know who else consisted mostly of water? Hitler. Stalin. Mao. The list goes on.
Yeah, exactly. And what about terrorists huh? Americans do like terrorists don't they? Well, guess what they're made of...

I'm suprised some American has'nt tried to sue the Sun for burning them yet, they sue for pretty much everything else.

Well, the bolded part is the biggest problem already.
And no, that's not true.
If I paint a person black I might be guilty of harassment or assault.
If somebody then kills this person because of their colour, that's not my fault, especially since I (if I were the sun) don't control who becomes dark-skinned since I don't control where people live.

What does the sun have to do with racism? For instance. Your mom has one black shirt and one pink shirt, she gives black shirt to you and pink to your brother. Your brother gets his ass kicked at school and he dies from injuries. Did your mom kill your brother?
But maybe we all need to smoke less weed.

Well, there are some bacteria that live off chemical reactions or the heat of our Earth's core, but since the Earth, too, needed the Sun to come into being in the first place, yes.
Living things need energy input, so without the Sun (or some other thing that provides energy) there can't be life.
At least not life like our own.

Errr...

OK.

Doesn't the theory go that everyone started off black and the people that moved became lighter?

Oh, and your logic is stupid to say the least. By that reasoning, it's the sun's fault if I die choking on a potato, because that potato couldn't have grown without sun light in the first place.

I don't think it's meant to kill indirectly. Until Cthulhu finds a way up there.

Until all facts of a universe are answered (which obviously they won't be) you can't say "there can't be life".

Totally unrelated, but can an African person get sun burnt? Or is that part of the reason why their skin color became black?
OT: No, it's an object, not a person.
You realise that "white" people's skin became white, not that "black" people's skin became black, right? Humanity came into being in Africa...

That makes no sense.
Get off your trip and read this thread again then.

Furthermore, you should realize that we all started off as Africans, so at some point we were all black. So if anything, the absence of intense sunlight would be the problem.

on that note, can you also find the spider in my room and kindly arrest that also? Ive been watching way to much Arachnophobia (movie about killer spiders) and now refuse to go in...
As for the Sun... As long as i get left alone, ill leave it alone!

I said "there can't be life like ours".

The Earth is an open system that's dependent on an external energy supply.
That doesn't mean some other alien form of life couldn't exist in different circumstances.

Energy comes in many different forms, there could possibly be being similar to our, just with a different intake of energy.
