Because you are Australian, right?Inverse Skies said:Lol, the Aussie influence eh? That's rather amusing.
I think the thread is a very good idea. I have a suggestion if you're worried it might fade away, why don't you PM wilson or someone like that and see if you can get it added to that Escapist community thread? The one at the top which gives people an indication of where everything is? At least then it has some sort of anchoring point so it doesn't fade away.
Lol, yeah I'm Australian, lived here all my life. Wilson is a really good bloke from my dealings with him, you can only give it a shot and see what he saysDaye.04 said:Because you are Australian, right?
Hum .. That might be an idea .. You think he'll find it mportant enough?
Yeah, I've sent him a PM. He said that he would mention it on the next weekly meeting ..Inverse Skies said:Lol, yeah I'm Australian, lived here all my life. Wilson is a really good bloke from my dealings with him, you can only give it a shot and see what he says![]()
Good on him. Good luck with it mate! Imagine being listed in that, that would be fantastic for youDaye.04 said:Yeah, I've sent him a PM. He said that he would mention it on the next weekly meeting ..
Even more so for this thread. I mean. I don't want to brag, but I look at this thread as a superb oppertunity for everyone who wants to develope their language knowledge. Or are simply translating, like NeutralDrow up there. Since The Escapist is so multi-national, it's pretty much the perfect learning surroundings ..Inverse Skies said:Good on him. Exactly why I thought this thread was such a brilliant idea! There are so many cultures and different countries represented on the Escapist, your thread gives such a unique opportunity to allow people to socialise and learn about other languages which no other thread does. If it were me I would add it to the community map in a second, but the Escapist can be a little picky about such things (if it were up to me I'd add things like the Holiday Council and stuff as well, major threads which have inspired a great response). I guess I can only say good luck with it! I certainly hope it all works out fine.Daye.04 said:Even more so for this thread. I mean. Edit: At first it was one insanely long sentence =P
Yes, then meganpenguinx [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/megapenguinx] or Papopapo456 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Papopapo456] is your choice =)Real Gonzo said:I would like to learn spanish.
yeah, The Escapist is. No doubt about it. ANd I agree. I would definetely put up The Holiday Councile. When I think about it, I might have put up threads like "What is your avatar of" and those kinds too. So that we won't have to have hundreds of threads like those. Because, basicly they are allways posed on every forum.Inverse Skies said:Exactly why I thought this thread was such a brilliant idea! That where did you get your avatar/name from threads would have to be officially made threads though, otherwise how do you pick out one thread from the heaps that have been made to put up there?Daye.04 said:yeah, The Escapist is. I think the start were probably like -Guidelines, -Welcome to forum and -Where did you get your nickname. =P The three first threads =P
Thanks for joining in =DSnowCold said:I can teach you hebrew(I'm native), if anyone really WANTS to learn it...
Well yeah. Either that, or the very first who made that thread gets it promoted.Inverse Skies said:That where did you get your avatar/name from threads would have to be officially made threads though, otherwise how do you pick out one thread from the heaps that have been made to put up there?
Actually, it wouldn't be too bad an idea to make a little 'members threads' community section, as all the threads up there are official ones. Prehaps we could message wilson or someone, see if we should make a thread where the members choose what threads they want to be added to the members section? It would be a good way of strengthening the community as a whole.
Sorry... I already made it. I'm the sort of person that once I get an idea in my head it just stays there annoying me until I act on it. It's just my personality. I've added your thread to it thoughDaye.04 said:Well yeah. Either that, or the very first who made that thread gets it promoted.
But I have to agree on your idea of members thread. The problem, however is deciding what actually gets there. Democracy never works. So there has to be some kind of popular demand. Perhaps when someone makes a requisition, they link to that thread (the one they want up on the members thread thingy), and make a poll. ANd then see how many wants it up there. Possibly. Just an idea .. Because just simple and plane as you had it, I doubt it's ever going to work. You've been here long enough to somewhat get to know the comunity =P
Good idea. Added to the OP.Quick Ben said:While reading this thread I got an idea to expand it's scope somewhat. As language is very closely related to culture (a language is kind of a view on life,) I think it might be a good idea to extend the purpose of the thread to cultural help as well.
I've got a friend who's very good at HTML, Java and Visual Basic language ... I'm pretty sure he's good at C++ too. If you want to, I guess I could ask him if he'd be interested in aiding you.stinkychops said:Anyone wish to teach me some basics in C++?
(pretty please...)

I'm currently translating <url=http://www32.atwiki.jp/fateuc/pages/13.html>a slightly extensive Japanese list <url=http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/950973/55553>into English. The Japanese, thus far, isn't a problem, but not everything on the page translates to English. I'm having especial problems with Gaelic and German translations.
If any who speaks German or Danish (or whatever language the Einzberns of Fate/Stay Night speak) could look at the following katakana transliterations of certain moves and take some guesses, I'd appreciate it. As is, these are my BS guesses.
Burst ability - AIZEN REEMU (Eizen reim?)
Halberd super - RIZEN GESHURAI DOREEN (Risen Geshrai Drain?)
Super armor - BETTEN VAISU (Betenveiss?)
EX Attack - DORAI UM RAIFU (Drai um Life?)
I guess while I'm at it, I could ask if anyone knows anything about Gaelic and runes...
