I found the Huntsman really fun, particularly when combined with Jarate it can make the Sniper a mid range support class.

You're raising a balance issue about items that unbalance the game? Shocking.

I haven't bothered to play yet (probably won't for a while. I tend to try and avoid the class spammers.) I just want to know if it can be deflected with the air blast.

damn, i went to get this game for the second time today, as my old copy is already installed on my old busted PC, and the vendor at game said "I'm sorry, i can't sell you this." Even though i'd bought the EXACT same game at the EXACT same store not a few months ago!
games are good, but GAME employees are below retarded cockroaches on the intelligence scale.
If you didn't have ID to purchase an M rated game, then you shouldn't have been able to buy it in the first place. The fact that you did has nothing to do with whether or not you should be allowed to again, because as it stands the original employee you bought it from could be fired and the second one who you dealt with had he sold it to you.

And if you think we're retarded...it's a Steam game. If you registered your serial number from your first copy with Steam, you can redownload it from them for free.

@Thanatos34 TF2 is M rated.

To be honest, I got the bow today, and was rather let down.

IMO, its the sniper rifle again, 'cept with bullets that are affected by gravity and are a bit slower, and without a scope. Plus, don't think about running and gunning (bowing?), the crosshair's a bit reluctant to point you in the right direction.

And its not an insta kill. I full powered a Scout in the chest and it didn't kill him. And, since its designed to make the sniper get a bit closer to the action, it should give a bit of a health point boost, like the backburner.

One plus, it certainly makes for a more satisfying headshot.
The Backburner hasn't given you health for a while now and I have been shot in the chest many times as a scout and killed with the huntsman.

It does seem a little op, but I would to at least use it before it is nerfed. Stupid new unlock system. It does charge 5 times faster than the sniper rifle.

Teen, I believe. I don't think they even check age for anything below Mature ratings.
The Orange Box is rated "products range from Teen to Mature." Portal is likely rated Teen, while the Half-Life 2 games and Team Fortress 2 are rated Mature.

I've noticed that the Canadian branch of EB Games will not sell Mature rated games to anyone under 18. Since the ratings are "suggestions" and not legal requirements, you can always go to a store that's less likely to ID you. Anyway, it's not like retail matters - it's cheaper on Steam. (Unless you play it on consoles - in which case, never mind.)

I don't think it's overpowered, because it's easy to dodge. The Cloak and Dagger on the other hand...

(I play as spy most of the time though, so I don't mind)

Nope. From what i've seen and played its just a medium ranged sniper rifle that fires arrows which can be dodged.

Oh, and if it's a sniper, then im all for it. who cares if it's overpowered? we still have f*ck all health.
Well, you aren't old enough to buy it, so they have every right not to sell it to you.

EDIT: Wait, maybe you are, what's the age rating for the Orange Box?
15 in the UK, so he is old enough.

Your day will come my friend... You might have died of old age by then but it will come. Valve have never delayed things before, right?

In answer to the question, I've found the Hunstman to be about as powerful as the regular sniper rifle is up-close. Besides, I haven't come across herd of Snipers using it all at the same time. Sniper's have as little health as the Scout, and all it requires is a medic by your side to take care of any Huntsman-wielding Snipers that are in your way.

Erm... i don't see any problem with me buying it. over here, it's a fifteen, not an M. and, last i checked, i'm also fifteen. maybe you should check my nationality before you started preaching to me about age ratings? I don't mean to flame, I mean no offense to you in person, I'm just venting my frustrations. I intend to go down tomorrow with ID (my passport) and buy it again. Unless there's some way to reclaim the old one...

EDIT: I feel i should also mention that all my account data was on the old PC, and i tried my usual passwords but nothing seemed to fit. With the loss of my old computer, In effect brought the loss of my steam account.

well, we all remember (or at least 360 players have it more clear) how the pyro flmaethrower could kill you in a matter of miliseconds (nanoseconds if you are a scout (reason why I grudge pyros so much and why I always try to kill one when I see it (which, surprisingly, almost always works (when weapon heckling them)))). But as I'm given to udnerstand, this issue was fixed in the pc version, and I'm sure this other issue will be fixed too. Valve have always been about trial and error really. It's just that they usually hit it right in their first trial. But then again, usually...

Same boat, sad but true.
I'm in that sinking ship as well, dammit.
Say on their website they're working on porting it across.

As for the Huntsman, I've got it but I'll be damned if I can get it too fire at all.
I want OP glory too.
Honestly, have i missed something?

Whilst being plugged with the Huntsman, As i play Spy mostly I tend not to notice damage too much.
Pretty much anything can one shot me with ease.

People learning how to use weapons effectively, OP is getting killed by it by players that know how to use it and is whining about it.

Sorry about my input being completely invalid but I've never even so much as tried TF2 but everyone seems to praise it. How does it work? Is it like Battlefield where you earn exp for kills and can get better weapons as you go along?
There are in game achievements, earn enough of them and the weapons unlock. :p
Cool. Sounds like a pretty fun game :D

You earn new weapons as you complete achievements, which is a lot better than arbitrary XP.

I only have the 360 version, that doesn't have these unlockables yet, but I've heard from people that this is how it works.

Though I got confused when some above poster said you have them from start, but I don't know. :/
No, you get them for UNLOCKING ACHIEVMENTS!

Hehe...

Its not overpowerd it just depends on skill the reason it does so much damage is because its easy to dodge the arrow and fool the sniper. I find the easiest way to dodge is the jump and stop in the middle of the jump or if your a heavy just turn around and shoot him.

Nerf it and it will be fine, some of the maps are designed without the sniper in hand so the bow is a practical solution to that problem.
