Well, think of it this way: At least you can get into the friend zone, some poor bastards don't even get that far.robot slipper said:Amen! I am perpetually in the Friend Zone.theravensclaw said:yeah unrequited love is mine too. Forever in the FRIEND ZONE with the guy in question.
Let me tell you about a girl I know, she had a drink about an hour ago. Sitting in the corner al- ...Ok but in all seriousness. I once knew a girl, she looked just Zooey DeschanelDoclector said:For me, it's a girlfriend. Emo? Oh yes. That's one of the things I hate most about it. It will constantly bug me, and bug me, until I simply HAVE to mention it to someone, then I sound emo as hell. Fact is I ain't. I'm 20, gorramit. I didn't have the nicest of childhoods. I reckon, if I can survive that hell alone, then I can survive the rest of what the world has to throw at me alone, and yet every time I see a happy couple, every time I see a pretty girl, every time some insufferable fool won't shut the hell up about how blissful their coupled life is, it rears it's ugly, illogical head to ruin my mood.
What I find hilirous about that whole thing is that pirates will ALWAYS find a way.Tim D said:How about a government that isn't full of retards (remember Sopa).
Yeah, pretty much this. I'm sorry but lamenting about the "fact", that you can "never" have a girlfried is just bullshit. I got a girlfriend and believe me, I'm no supermodel. Actually, she does not love me for my body - incredible, isn't it?. And it gets worse: I would still love her, even if she had three arms but only one eye. It's not about looks....not AT ALL....JoJoDeathunter said:While this is kinda off-topic, you can't be too ugly to get a girlfriend. Either you are lacking in self-confidence, or your standards are too high, or you've just been unlucky.Doclector said:See, because i'm far too ugly to get a girlfriend, this urge is not only insanely annoying, but completely redundant.
Actually, I haven't seen many ugly people in relationships. I struggle to think of any. I've seen below average, sometimes fat people in relationships but not really my standard of "holy Jesus, what the f*** is that?" ugly. Maybe I just live in the wrong area. Or maybe the ugly population evacuated without telling me. I've never understood how people would be attracted in the first place to unattractive people. That would require talking to them, and why the hell would a girl talk to me for long enough to gain that kind of relationship? The only scenario I can think of that happening is in a workplace, and I know practically everyone in my uni classes, and getting a job is ridiculously unlikely (I'll be trying, because people don't just get jobs to get a girl, of course) so that ship has sailed.Rheinmetall said:The argument that you are far too ugly to have a girlfriend is firstly illogical and secondly sexistic. But you are only 20 years old, so it's okay. At your age I used to say even bigger nonsense. It is illogical because not only handsome men have girlfriends, take a look around you and you will easily see my point. Also good appearance isn't the only reason that can lead two people to a relationsip, but mainly their mutual desire to be together. Appearance plays a role ,but it's just one of the many. And not all people share the same vision about their lives, or how they want their partners to be.
It's sexistic because women seem to be absent from this equation. Women have feelings as well, insecurities as ours, and not all of them are beautiful. Women are not the prize for a man to claim. At least it shouldn't be that way.
Sorry for the preach,
happy 2012!

I think this is the part where you make your mistake "it's simply not logical or realistic", see when it comes to the kind of relationship I assume you are looking for logic doesn't really play much of a role. I'm not going to lie to you and pretend it will be easy. Being less attractive then others will most definately put you at a disadvantage when looking for a girlfriend but just because you are disadvantaged doesn't mean you can not succeed.Doclector said:And as for women, i know, but it's simply not logical or realistic that someone would be able to see past my looks. And besides, I don't see many ugly women. Maybe my standards are simply different, or maybe they simply don't go out much because of what they'd have to put up with; Ugly men get jokes told about them, ugly women get full on abuse, I can't say I blame them.
