Smile Dog, perchance?

I don't recall ever seeing the original.
That one is the "original", albeit with added frame with fake blood. The silly fake one is this which is considerably less scary because it looks so damn stupid.

I've never seen the movie, but it sounds like a scene in the book. I heard that the movie was absolutely terrible, both of them, actually. One kept to the book like a script but wasn't able to properly portray the scary parts, while the other one veered so far off the book that it should have had a different title.

Really turned me off seeing either of them.

Indeed.

The remake looks like somebody got high and messed around with photoshop for an hour.

This scares the crap out of me [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-CyUOVtImc]
Whenever I am in an unfamiliar city I always plan out an escape route just in case this happens.

I saw when I was about 10 or 11 (yay, lax parenting!) and that scene remained with me for a good fortnight afterwards. I can't remember if it was bad or good, though.

Seriously, that was a scary show.
If you were under 10 years old, and you didn't turn that show off once, because you were afraid, then you are lying.

Simple as that.

Yeah, Lovecraft's writing may have been a bit dry.. But DAMN if he didn't create one of the scariest mythoses known to man. (Those parts of it that aren't "indescribable", or described by only using words that nobody but a linguist could understand without referring to Webster's every other word.)

Is anyone like me and actually ENJOYS the dark, and not afraid of it in the slightest? I actually get more comforable sitting in the dark. I find walking through silent, pitch black streets at 2 AM peaceful.

Also, when I was a kid, Mr Burns in the X-files episode of the Simpsons scared the bajeezus out of me.

I don't like sitting down, especially at a table like when a meal is being served/consumed, with by back to the door. I like being able to see who is coming at me.

And I have a really hard time walking beside moving trains on raised platforms (i.e. NYC subway platforms). It makes my head spin...for no perceivable reason. This goes away when I can walk at track-level.

Otherwise I'm not specifically scared of anything coming after me; I'm equally paranoid when it comes to anything! The city has raised me well.

Awww, such a cute little husky pup.

Nothing really scares or creeps me out after I "accidentally" watched the Aliens movie at the age of 7. Nothing, but swimming in the river or a lake at night and accidentally touching cold silt covered bottom with my feet, this is when my imagination starts to play games with me.

Me and my friend used to take regular walks at 2-3 AM just because we were still up at that time, and it was just so... Yes, peaceful outside.
So yeah, I kinda liked it too.

And a fun thing: There are no people, AT ALL, who are afraid of the dark. (Or at least very, VERY few.)
When someone says that they're afraid of the dark, they're actually afraid of the things that could be hiding in said darkness, not the darkness itself.

Furries, they scare the hell outta me.

and there is also a song that describes other things, which will most likely be the same case.
Have you ever been alone in the dark, walking down the street or laying in your bed wide awake?
Have you ever felt like you werent alone? Have you ever heard noises, noises that had come from an unidentifiable source? Have you ever felt like you were being watched?
Listen to the lyrics.

I'm pretty sure I've heard somewhere some time a few years ago from some source that I can't remember that most shark attacks might actually have happened in water that is only, like, one and a half meters deep.

Which means you can see the bottom and the sharks WILL STILL GET YOU!

Also, Sharkman [http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51nvVb5%2BfpL._SL500_AA240_.jpg]. Can probably get you even if you're not actually in the water.

Plague doctors, bees, and The Enigma of Amigara Fault. That last one is a one-shot manga, look it up if you want to have nightmares.
