Hmmm, the start of Mass Effect 2 really through me for a loop. Seeing my ship blown up wasn't easy to watch. But in terms of real emotion, like, almost tears: Heavy Rain. Practically the whole game, but the impending death and/or death of a child really bugs me out and when it's your kid involved, it just, ugh. makes me all weepy and stuff.

The entire bit were you go up to Jenny's apartment in the beginning of The Darkness unexpectedly provoked a lot of emotions in me, and it really attached me to Jackie's character. It was the experience that really sucked me into the game, and since I felt a connection to Jackie all the way from that early stage, it made the story really appeal to me.

I really hope the sequel doesn't get cocked up

The dedication of the Daddy, and the trust of the sister. Whenever I heard my little sister scream in Bioshock 2, I felt legitimately angry. I was really surprised when I realized how emotional I felt about it, because looking back, it didn't seem like it should have been as bad as it was.
They do it because they were brainwashed to. In fact as part of the story (In the GOOD one) The big daddies represented the downfall of society and the moral degredation that comes with greed.
Well yes, obviously. That's an obvious part of the character of them in the game, but that's not the point. I know they were brainwashed, but does that change why they were an emotional part of the game for me? Negatory.

Sorry, but I figured with games as old as Final Fantasy 6 and 7 the people who don't already know what happens will likely never find out as they are probably not fans. That said, I didn't know the spoiler code until not too long after my post.

By the way, do you know how to change the text in the spoiler box? I don't want it to read "Spoiler: Click to View".
I just know that some people are still catching up: I only played FFVI about a year ago. It's one of the best games I've ever played, but I wasn't playing games when it came out, so I didn't get to it until now. Admittedly the Aerith thing is pretty common knowledge, but still. I'm a writer myself, so I'm harder on spoilers than most people because I know how upset I would be if I put tons of work into making a story effectively surprise someone and people just found out beforehand.

And yeah, here:
Again, just take out the asterisk and you'll be good to go.

She wasn't evil. She was abused as a child and who are you to say that someone like that is actually a bad person. In the game she is 16. She believes herself to be evil, to be damned to hell and that is why all she sees in silent hill is fire.
I didn't say she ws a bad person; I said she was an evil person. Despite being raped she still killed her own father; that is evil. Yet she had justifiable reasons for doing so.
I don't think one evil act makes a person evil, personally. I feel like there are shades of gray. It's implied from that news article that she finally snapped after his abuse and stabbed him in self-defense-- yeah, she went way too far with about 36 stabs, but she was freaking out in the heat of the moment. Plus, she feels insanely guilty about it-- it's not like she killed him without regret. Because of this, in part, she constantly mentions how she's a bad person and eventually kills herself.

TL;DR: She had several good reasons to do what she did and still felt bad about it after it happened-- this, I feel, means she isn't an evil person.

Thank you. I'll be mindful from now on. :)

Portal 2... a few parts.

When GLaDOS was being pulled into that pit and started screaming. I wasn't exactly a fan of Wheatley- he was slightly annoying but entertaining- and I did not want to stick the little idiot in charge. After he put GLaDOS into a potato and started going mad with power... well, revenge was the only thing I wanted. I was pretty happy to see Wheatley got stuck in space, and that ultimately, GLaDOS did win.

Atlas and P-Body. Just Atlas and P-Body, the whole development of human traits as they go along. Especially since it was me and my brothers playing, we always had fun trying to kill each other, but the best moment was when you earned the 'hug' action. We were going in blind, and had to figure it out on our own, so that part was just a little more emotional than it should have been.

I'd also say several parts of Mass Effect 2 got to me... watching the Normandy go, of course. Then there were the loyalty missions, all of them were pretty touching in one way or another. Thane's romance path also had me choked up a couple times. And, of course, getting through the end of the game with no casualties, and saving the crew, that was a moment of true greatness.

Dom's reunion with his wife in Gears of War 2 was surprisingly tear-jerking.
This would have been for me too, except for the fact that i happened to have left a boom shield on the exact spot where his wife is, so he delivers all his lines to a shield and hugs it and everything. I lol'd so hard.
xD that's awesome. I don't think I've ever had something glitch like that.
