MGS isn't so difficult. There's plenty of other games that should be on there. Vampire Rain? Coded Arms? Just saying....
Play MGS on the hardest difficulty, cry and then break the disc.
agreed... well, apart from instead of crying, just forget about the game and don't let it ruin you.
my brother was good enough to get through the sneaking parts of the game, but both of us (and most the people we know) are convinced that the torture test is impossible to beat (in MGS1, it doesn't matter as much, screw Meryl, but in MGS2, its mandatory)... we even got borrowed all of our friends "non-official sony" PS2 controllers, you know, the ones with the turbo/automatic button pressing abilities. That only prevented Raidens neck coming off for another 5 seconds or something. i swear it is impossible.
oh, and just to stress how hard the sneaking part is, you can't get seen/placed into alert mode, the guard's vision is still impaired but about equal to your average person who doesn't wear glasses but should maybe consider getting some (as in the guards see you from across a massive length of bridge, just can't distinguish that you aren't one of them without taking a step forward first).
and just to stress how mad the game was, my brother sneaked through an area, disposing off the guards one by one until only one remained (believe me, we had checked he was definatly the only one)... for a bit of fun, my brother decided that just taking his dog-tags and killing him wasn't enough, so he planted some C4 on his back, took a few steps back and pushed the fuse... Game Over... we weren't too close to be in the explosion, nor had the guard put down his arms and set off Alert mode by not being 'frozen' anymore... the only alive guard had heard the explosion that would instantaneously kill him and by hearing hit, the alarm had gone off and it was Game over. That is an example of how hard MGS2 is on European extreme mode
