The list was compiled by Gamewise taking a poll of all their users. So not only was it compiled by a group of people who most likely aren't thinking in the "grand scheme" and are allowing themselves to be affected by their most recently enjoyed games (which I think explains why the top 20 is comprised of either very new or very old games--not taking into account smaller releases in the middle that still had a huge impact on games), but it was also compiled by people who are most likely basing their vote on either the amount of "fun" they had or the amount of nostalgia they feel for it. If this were a list compiled by critics, then you'd see choices that have more to do with games that have historical significance than just "nostalgia" and "fun-ness."TheKasp said:Since when is the Orange Box a game?.. Why no Half Life in the top 20?... Why Mass Effect 2 in the top 20? And what the fuck does FF X has to do on that list?
And don't get me started on the stupidity of voting Pokemon gen 1 as the best - it simply is not. From a mechanical, aesthetical and narrative point of view it is the worst of them all.
The list is shit from my perspective.
As much as I love pokemon, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this point. Have you played the originals lately? They're fucking terrible. Glitchy, ugly, and unbalanced, they don't hold up at all. That's why GSC was so good, They took the originals, fixed a large number of the errors, and nearly doubled the content.TizzytheTormentor said:Pokemon Red/Blue
