What a laugh! The 'think of the children' patrol is back at it again. The LHLA (Living His Life Abundantly) have compiled a list of their top 8 games featuring satanic themes. My two favorites would have to be Guitar Hero and Assassin's Creed! Do these titles really bother anyone or is this attitude these type of games the real problem? I mean, if you don't like it, no one is making you play it.

Here's the link to their article on their website. I see the comments field has been blanked out. So much for sharing your thoughts. Also the article is listed under "breaking news" haha

You've been officially warned!
I would everyone to note, that Darksiders, a game where you kill Angels, Dark Angels, and you beat the crud out of The Archangel Uriel for that matter, and in sence, the angels are kinda the bad guys, is not on this list of games.
It's mentioned at the bottom:

Stupid Blog that give religion a bad name. said:
Other games with Satanic themes are Darksiders, Koudelka, Trapt, and Bayonetta.
That was my bad, sorry, and may i also note that War when he fights the end boss, the boss says "Will you serve in Heaven or rule in Hell?" and he says "I will chose what a coward did not"

So he chose to serve in HEAVEN, people dont read past the clift notes do they?
Yeah, I'm surprised Assassin's Creed got on the list but not Darksiders. It's probably cause they saw it as anti-Christian or something. Seriously, I don't think Satan is even mentioned once in the entire game.
He wasent, "The Destroyer" was the main bad guy, and Samiel was the worst demon there.

I was actually asking if Satan was ever mentioned in Assassin's Creed. Sorry about that.

That was my bad, and no, he wasent mentioned in either 1, 2, or bloodlines, or the DLC for that matter.

I wonder if the person who wrote this article ever actually played these games. The descriptions for Assassin's Creed and Guitar Hero are so ridiculous that they make me think this is fake.

Though I'm not usually one to defend Assassin's Creed, I have played it through and I know for a fact that there isn't anything remotely offensive about it from a religious point of view, unless you severely dislike killing in media, which isn't necessarily satanic even though it is, from that perspective, sinful.

The misuse of faith during the Crusades is the only thing which would offend some people, but those same people would have to be the more fascist, Inquisition-style Christians anyway. It's fair to point out that both sides in that war did terrible things, and not just to each other but to their own civilians.

Besides, the team which made the game clearly states when you turn it on that it is "made by a group of people" from all kinds of "cultures and faiths", which means that it was fool proofed from the start not to be too offensive to one side's descendants or the other.

The reportage in that article is grossly inaccurate. Altair is not a Muslim, so there's no religious undertones to his killing. In fact, the whole basis of the Assassins group in the game is an atheistic viewpoint, sprouting from their knowledge of the pieces of Eden, which are the true source of the illusions that people thought were religious miracles. "Nothing is true, and everything is permitted" is one of the key lines that Al Mualim says.

In fact, assuming the Assassins are Muslims is a basic example of prejudice - there is a clear assumption here that because they speak with (fairly bad, but recognisable) Arabic accents and have Arabic names, they must be Muslim. That's a fatal fallacy of the first degree, and the loser in any statement like that is logic itself.

Getting annoyed with Guitar Hero guitars for having pentagrams on them really is the height of stupidity, though. People should be allowed to have a symbol on their instrument if they want to, even if it's a game controller! Pentagrams aren't even anti-Christian except in the deranged mindsets of intolerant people, they're just pagan symbols in origin.

The fact that an upside down pentagram is associated with Satan (which is an association made originally by Christians, as is well known) is not enough to make playing these games count to anyone sane as a satanic ritual. Besides, on just as good (read: terrible) grounds a non-Christian could say that crosses on a guitar in a game, like there are in many movies, are "marks of evil" because they disagree with their beliefs.

Overall, this sort of thing would amuse me if it did not irritate me first. The stupidity behind these protests is unbelievable.

Wow i feel embaressed that only the crazy christians get attention i mean come on. Just because we see something in a game does not mean that we are going to go out and try to do it in real life.
