Actually, according to Wiki, no-one here fits.

According to the all-mighty wikipedia, hardness is "characterized by a disregard for local law enforcement, a familiarity with illegal drugs and weaponry, a criminal record, and aggressive tendencies when it is felt that personal territory or livelihood is being threatened". Doesn't really fit any of our characters any more than any other videogame character.

Rather than the player character in bioshock... I'd have to say Andrew Ryan. He builds a city with the intent for it to be devoid of morals, basically telling established society to piss off. He intentionally alienates the majority of the earth to create a society where science can explored in ways that make sane people shudder.

He also burned down a whole goddamn forest that he owned just because the government was going to nationalize it.

Master Chief: Not sure that I give him the badass/hardest award, he probably gets more of the most Efficient Killing Machine Ever; But not really the badass material.

You have offended every fibre of my being with this statement. Master Chief is most certainly NOT the most efficient killing machine ever. Samus almost wiped out an entire species, and dismantled the Space Pirates organization several times, before Master Chief came along. Mario has butt-stomped more annoying midgets (Goombas) than MC could ever dream of (those damn grunts). How many thousand moblins, stalfos, and octoroks has Link put to the sword before 2001? Master Chief has only had three games worth of homicide...whoopidy doo.

You seem to misunderstand the concept of efficiency; doing something for no longer does not make them efficient, quite the opposite in fact. If anything, the fact that he only takes three games makes it more impressive (from a meta-game point of view). A marine at the beginning of Halo 3 says Master Chief falls two kilometres, and then he just walks it off. Sounds pretty hard to me.

PS. I fail to see how Master Chief doesn't count because he's a cyborg super soldier, yet Kratos does and he's effectively a God.

I can see your agument and I agree while I Like Kratos FAR more than master Cheif I think he gets some cridit for being badass

Firstly, none of you seem to have read the Halo books, the Chief has been kicking ass for over 3 decades. He also took out most of 5 different races during his time.

Second Samus Aran is a superhuman, in her powersuit she dodges energy bolts at close range out of her suit she is even faster. I cite the first scene in metroid prime 3 when dark samus first shows up and knocks everyone else out. This still doesn't disqualify her from being hard.

Third Ash from army of darkness has been in several games, this dude has been possessed by demons, proven he had more will than them, used his will to cram them into his hand which he sliced off with a chainsaw, then he went through all of Army of Darkness without seeing a doctor once. He has been to the marvel zombie universe and survived, now that is hardcore, especially since he landed on a parallel earth covered in werewolves immediately afterward.

Considering the definition of hard we are going under currently is best defined as "most difficult situations a character has made it through, it doesn't get too much more ridiculous or difficult than the Hulk, Thor, The Sentry, and Captain America wanting to eat your brains, and you are just a regular guy with a chainsaw on your hand.

when u say Samus is a superhuman in a powered suit, isnt it the same with Master Queef? o i mean master chief?

any how i think Doom, Space Marine from Quake, Duke Nukem, DK are pretty hard characters

I thought MC being superhuman was a given I didn't know everyone needed it pointed out to them, I pointed out Samus was superhuman as no one seemed to notice. Donkey Kong? That character isn't even remotely as hard as most of the characters involved in this discussion, if your reference to DK isn't Donkey Kong then who is it?
